Yeah, Rafael, let's blame Biden for shutting down all those schools when he was a private citizen. And we'll blame Trump for the Exxon-Valdez. Or maybe Three-Mile Island.
More work in service of ending public schools as we know it. Democrats need to do more work in elevating teachers in our society as an answer for the constant attacks. It used to be they were safe, but the gloves are off now. If nobody wants to go into teaching as a profession, we are fucked.
My nieces and nephews were in middle and high school, when schools started reopening in 2021.
During peak surge COVID, in the winter of 2021, they had combined class study halls instead of some classes because so many students were out sick, and sometimes teachers were also out.
School closures have been very hard on kids, and some will never be able to makeup the lost year of remote learning. Republicans just want to use the real world problems kids face as a political cudgel, and do not care to do a damned thing to make things better.
It’s just frustrating, when one party has gone so far off the rails in terms of useful policy and so many millions still support them.
hes a troll not a senator

FTC always gets an up vote from me.

Ah. ty for the correction.
"COVID is now the eighth leading cause of death for kids." while number 1 is lead poisoning from bullets.
[Cruz] remains more of an Internet loudmouth than any sort of useful public servant.
I would have gone with “worthless face-pubed shitstain,” but I’m not a professional journalist.
Right: shutdowns caused the kids to fall behind. Being dead or having dead teachers and parents would def have kept their scores up.
I think more than 80 NYC public school teachers died of Covid in 2020 and 2021.
And of course children in New Orleans after Katrina didn't have any educational delays, or in Houston after it flooded.
Not that Cruz would know how Houston schoolkids are doing.
Here it is, at 13:15https://youtu.be/7OeeHz0uNdM
I'm now in the mood to rewatch Jordan Klepper's spots on the Daily Show.
Maybe kids can't read books because Republicans keep trying to burn them.
ah yes! in the spirit of old Raygun: first break it and then complain that it's broken.
fuck off, Ted.
I mean, these same people blame Obama for 9/11, which was seven years before he was elected, so...
Incurious parents like their babysitters to work cheap.
"Cruz has been a senator for over ten years and he has accomplished absolutely nothing."
Cruz vs FEC was a brilliant stroke of public corruption made law.
