The tinfoil hat clowns going on about the lab leak nonsense are the same idiots who also claim that COVID was no worse than a cold and a giant liberal hoax.

BTW, does anyone know what that chainsaw says? Typing my best guess into Google translate comes back as "elbow forces", which I suppose could be an idiom meaning "elbow grease" or something, but I dunno.

In a post to Xitter, Kennedy stated that their new “international health organization” will rely on “gold-standard science,” which I think we can fairly assume means “whatever internet cranks decide is true.”

//

I disagree. I think it means "whoever has the gold declares what the "science" is."

More than anything one is struck by their Originality. Who could imagine using a chainsaw to symbolize Cutting and Hacking? Or two thumbs up to confirm that "Cutting and Hacking are Good"! Yes, more than anything I remain struck by their Originality.

The chainsaw's fake. That size, he'd be straining a bit more to hold it up like that. Probably cardboard, like W's Thanksgiving turkey.

Ta, Robyn. I got my 2024-25 booster a couple weeks ago. I wear a KN-95 mask getting to and from work on public transit, and a surgical mask during the work day. The only time I'm not masked at work is when I'm alone in my office. All my clients are HIV positive adults, and If I gave one of them so much as a cold, I'd be devastated. We'd best hope the new bird flu doesn't make the jump to humans. Considering all the selfish, thoughtless people with whom we must share a country, it would probably make the 1918 flu epidemic look mild.

I have my criticisms of the health research leaders, educators, and policy makers during the early stages of Covid, but it was an incredibly fraught time with people having to make more decisions by the seat of their pants than Captain Kirk. None of it is something that a change like this would solve. In fact it would make it worse.

As a photographer, I have to marvel at the idiotic composition of the 3rd picture with the hat.

Bobby: "OK, Dave... jump on the desk and shoot downwards at us"

Dave: "OK boss. Should we move the chairs randomly placed in the foreground??"

Bobby: "Why, do they look bad?"

Dave: "It's awfully chaotic."

Bobby: "PURRFECT!"

They mean “lab leak.” They wanted the WHO to blame the pandemic on “lab leak.” While the WHO has acknowledged that it was not as prepared as it should have been for a global pandemic, telling people, without evidence, that a lab leak was responsible for the virus getting out would have done nothing at all to prevent “devastating global consequences.”

*** *** ***

As I am fond of saying, Republicans don't know how to fix anything except blame.

The only thing they want us to know about the coronavirus is that it is all the fault of the CHINESE. Should we use preventive public-health measures to prevent people from dying of CoViD? No, FIRST we need to BLAME THE CHINESE. And after that, who cares what we do? The pandemic is not OUR responsibility to solve. It's a CHINESE problem. Let the CHINESE fix it.

Does this sound racist to you? It does to me.

Republicans would let the whole world burn to ashes while they went looking for some non-white arsonist to blame for starting the fire.

Go Lysenkoist or Go Home!

This is where the rubber meets the road in Grimy Wormtongue's quest to kill millions of people (and leave us to lose even more from the generational damage).

All part of the initiative by the unreconstructed and their wealthy benefactors/pals to kill as many of us as possible wit miasma, pestilence and famine.

"Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is wielding a chainsaw once again"

Junior is more in sync with the Fulvous Fuckwad than the DOGEbag-in-Chief is. Elmo was wielding a normal chainsaw as a symbol of DOGE cuts/asshattery, Jr is using a gaudy gold-tone saw -- and we all know that gold is Mooseballs Mussolini's second favorite color, right behind whatever color his natural skin tone is.

"took a trip to Argentina this week in order to hang out with a world leader nearly as batshit as our own"

* Nearly, yes, but no one can hold a candle to the batshit crazy "leader" we are suffering under.

* It might be acid flashbacks, but Milei looks like many of my friends from the 1960s: Beatle-esque hair and long, unruly sideburns.

“There are well-documented concerns regarding the early management of the pandemic and the risks associated with certain types of research. Rather than ensuring timely transparency, the WHO failed to provide critical access to information, impairing countries’ ability to act swiftly and effectively, with devastating global consequences[]”

* Probably the most concerning was the Amber Ardipithecus ramidus' response. Remember: “If you don’t test, you don’t have any cases,” Trump said at a June 15 roundtable discussion at the White House. “If we stopped testing right now, we’d have very few cases, if any[?]”

* The WHO failed to provide essential info to control COVID like the effectiveness of injecting bleach, hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin, inhaling 0.5–3% hydrogen peroxide solution using a nebulizer to prevent or cure COVID-19, gargling with saltwater....
