I don’t really have a side to pick in this fight except to say that in part they make some maybe-kinda-valid points, but otherwise seem to be unlikable people competing for who can be the most unlikable. And that if Internet personalities are leading the mantle of “mental health advocacy,” then it stands to reason, paradoxically, that RFK Jr stands to benefit by default, because people listening to Internet drama-seekers instead of experts is what got us in this mess in the first place. The ordinary people going through the hell of their actual mental illness/diagnostic process are the ones who lose out.
I am continually stunned at how many nurses, dental techs, and other health care workers are anti-vax. How do they not know better? When the first covid vaccine came out, my dentist had to cancel my appointment because almost all her staff quit, rather than getting the vaccine. I don't know how big a problem this is, but if babies in the NICU are getting infected...something's clearly up.

I think he does it for a couple of reasons- one is that he is an arrogant fucker who believes that his opinions should be taken far more seriously than they ever have been, and the other is that he's a eugenicist. One means that he needs to have people swallow his bullshit because it is his due. It is important that people believe things he knows are lies because HE says them. They owe him that because he is of a higher class than them, he is genetically better than them. The second follows from this. He doesn't care if they live or die, so he isn't going to do anything to prevent them dying, and thus proving they weren't worthy of life anyway.
This disdain for and mistrust of the medical establishment crosses party lines, which makes it difficult to ignore. It also mines a genuine unease with all of the malfeasance of modern medicine that is not without reason, particularly among minorities and women. I wish we could just laugh it off, but it’s going to take more than that if public health is ever to recover.
