Rick Perry's Sweet Seduction Secrets: Treat Your Ladies Right By Paying Them Less
Remember how we watched the super special spectacular flameout of Rick Perry's presidential campaign, complete with an utter inability to remember which government agencies he wanted to annihilate? That was some must-see TV right there. In between our gales of laughter at the hapless head of hair that is Rick Perry, we were also very happy about dodging that particular bullet because that guy is a DICK. We hadn't quite managed to forget about him entirely, but we were well on our way there until Perry managed to transcend his dickishness, to become the Platonic ideal of dickish, by vetoing Texas' Equal Pay Act:

The bill would bring Texas state law in line with the federal Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which makes it easier for women to sue employers over wage discrimination. It cleared the state House in late April, and the Senate passed its version in late May.
Why would the wimmens need extra pay anyway? They really shouldn't have jobs in the first place, because doing so interferes with Texas' near constant need to monitor what the ladies are doing with their ladyparts. But if those ladies insist on going to work because they're hungry, or cold, or want to feed their children, or some other feelings-fest lady thing, they really shouldn't make as much money as men with their big man brains. Also, too, paying ladies is such a job-killer:
Gov. Rick Perry vetoed the bill, vaguely suggesting it could hurt job creation in the state by increasing regulations and lawsuits. The Republican governor said Texas women already have recourse to the federal courts under the federal Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act.
“Texas’ commitment to smart regulations and fair courts is a large part of why we continue to lead the nation in job creation,” he said. The bill “duplicates federal law, which already allows employees who feel they have been discriminated against through compensation to file a claim with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.”
That would seem totally reasonable except for that tiny part where it is a PACKFUL OF LIES:
The measure, which passed the House 79-50 in April and the Senate 16-15 last month, would make state law mirror a 2009 federal law, the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. Essentially, women could recover two years of compensation for discriminatory wage payments and could more easily sue because they could go to court within 180 days of any unfair paycheck. Under current law, they only may sue within 180 days of the employer’s decision setting the pay. Last year, the Texas Supreme Court upheld a 180-day “statute of limitations” on when such suits may be brought.
On average, women are paid only 77 cents for every $1 earned by men, according to a 2010 study by the National Committee on Pay Equity. Proponents noted that sometimes women do not learn that they are being paid unfairly low amounts until after the 180 day period has expired.
