Frothy hater of erotic freedom Rick Santorum surprised a lot of people this weekend when he said that Bruce Jenner, who revealed in a widely watched interview with Diane Sawyer that he (that is the pronoun Jenner has requested for now, so preemptively shut up, thanks) is transgender and identifies as a woman, is deserving of human compassion and respect, and that we should take Jenner at his word.
I wouldn't put it past them. At least not past the ones who are most vocal. If they could get away with it I wouldn't doubt it, especially if they kept it out of sight so regular people weren't generally aware of it.
Jenner said in the interview with Diane Sawyer that he's a Republican. So all the nasty bigotry doesn't apply to him. Like Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter and Phyllis Schlafley's gay son, Bruce is off-limits.
