Why can't people on the left and right try to win fairly in the "market place" of ideas? There's so much bullshit...so much subterfuge that a even moderately aware person can only shake his head and think, "who the fuck is falling for this?"

Dear friends...I worry, not only for my country but for our species. We can fly o the moon and beyond, we can create life, we can fill a CD with the collected works of Billy Ray Cyrus, yet we get suckered in by forms of bullshit that are embarrassingly easy to see through. It's almost as if we WANT to be deceived...to pull the wool over our own eyes.
I can't help but feel that now matter how this next big election plays out, we..right or left...are going to be screwed in ways our parents never thought possible.
