Yeah these reformed Republicans dirtying up MSNBC's talking-heads panels make me laugh. Sure, they make some good points, but so would some folks not desperately trying to remove the stink of Trump-flavored Republicanism off themselves by pretending to suddenly honor the Constitution. We all know that once Trump is gone, most of these people will be back at their usual gig, subverting democracy, enabling financial crimes, and ensuring inequality.

I believe 'We are a Liberal nation.' is meant to describe majority voter positions on the issues, rather than to say that the U.S. government is and has been a liberal institution.
