You have to admit it's a nice hat The fine state of Georgia has its state primary election coming up Tuesday, May 24, so we figure that's as good a reason as any to look at the Senate contenders from the Peach State. The consensus of the political experts out there is that incumbent Republican Johnny Isakson is a safe bet to hold on to his seat, but as we keep saying every week, with Donald Trump at the top of the Republican ticket, a lot of Democrats are feeling ambitious and maybe even lucky. So let's take a look at what's brewing in the state that gave us Jimmy Carter, the Allman Brothers, and
Update Georgia had the downticket primary today. On the Senate races, Isakson is the R candidate, clobbering his contenders with 77% of the vote. D is still being counted. but looks like Barksdale at 53% with 85% counted. ETA: Barksdale won and will be facing Isakson in November.
The good news Asshat TP Congresscritter Paul Broun, who gave up his seat to run for Senate in 2014, tried and failed to get it back! The guy who replaced him, Doug Collins, is keeping the seat, winning 61% to 22%. He looks to be as conservative, but he hasn't made the news with st00pid shit over the past two years, so that's an improvement. ETA: The other hot Republican race is for that asshat Lynn Westmoreland's seat. From the seven candidates, there was no clear winner and the top two vote-getters will be in a runoff.
Who is no one to write home about, but seems to keep his crazy under control. So what's ol' Paul gonna do for a living now? Back to doling out pills at the old folks home?
I dunno, some of his is straight out of the United States Of Fucking Stupid's Guide To Low-Information Voters, but I'll give him points for a) looking beyond CNN/Fox News, and b) knowing there is another Georgia out there somewhere.
And bonus points for 'anchor baby'. I liked that one too.

He did not. They like the new Congresscritter,
Thanks for the update. Glad Broun did not get in; enough absurd people in the GA delegation already.
