Well, not EVERY country in Europe - firstly there in Hungary where über-fascist Viktor Orban rules with an iron fist and welcomed Fucker Snarlson for a whole week last year.Plus, also Ukraine is in Europe and d is not so lucky right now, but that's no their fault.
Why? Elected officials are regular people like anyone else, and have that right. As a PROUD progressive Liberal independent who has NEVER been in any party whatsover finds this all both hilarious and the REAL reason our governmenat sucks so bad. Places that have only essentially two-party sysetm alwsy find a wasy to fuck over everybody. One just needs to look at Canada to see how it really should be done.
Yep - Luntz and Gingrich rearing their ugly heads were the actual reason I went from a fluffy "both parties are bad", "independent", third party voter to voting Democratic entirely. Not because I thought Dems were all that great. It was because I could see what was coming down the pike with the GOP. Sadly, I was right. Sadly, I had no idea how insidious and awful it would turn out to be.
My once purple state, that I love, swung hard red and I have no idea how it happened. We have some religious fanatics, but of all religions. We have an incredibly diverse population because many hands make light work. The city I live in has festivals from nearly every country on earth and you can watch live sports from rugby to hockey. Kids come from other states to attend college here and many actually stay. Other than continuing to vote blue and talk to people that are actually interested in having a discussion about politics I don't know what to do.
I believe that the Democrats can step up their game without becoming ruthless, lawless assholes like the Republicans. Too bad so many Democrats seem to disagree. Remember that old saying about the triumph of evil?
But we can vote now. We can also protest and pressure politicians to defend democracy. The situation never should have become this bad, but even now all hope is not lost.
And as you'll see in the article, she doesn't seem to have said why. But WI senators have 4-year terms and she was reelected in 2020, so at least she didn't retire right after winning another term.

Where 'ya goin?
That doesn't stop the wing nuts from imagining that they have a valid 'militia', though, does it. It's really always Opposite Day in Wingnutistan.

Liberal independent. How many times have you voted R in your years of being an independent?
New Zealand. A civilized country.

Yes, doctors are fleeing the state in droves. One hospital has stopped delivering babies altogether.
I like what Frank Herbert ( author of Dune ) said about it: "The problem is not that power corrupts, it is that power attracts the corruptible."
And boy howdy, are the Republicans attracted to power.

Re: Rosanne, "What changed?"mental illness + celebrity culture + hard drug useIt was always who she was, then it got rewarded and amplified.
"I don't get how so many of us became right wingers."post-counterculture broken families, then coming of age during the Yuppie years.
