Oh of course. They play them by insinuating that they support white supremacy, and that such support will raise poor whites out of poverty.

In reality, the GOP is little more than a P.R. Department for the super-wealthy. They have no interest in helping anyone poor. They just want to keep the poor from getting too angry about their situations. And harping on White Supremacy has been a reliable tool for that project since the early days of the republic. Not only does it pacify poor whites, but it enlists them in suppressing poor people of other races.

But if you aren't white, I can't understand how you would be taken in by this farce.

My mother's family looked down on the "Paddy-Irish" who came here after them - by one generation.

I'll watch anything John Sayles does. I've been a fan of his ever since The Brother From Another Planet blew my mind. He cemented it with Lianna, which I still think is one of the best coming out films ever made. He's amazing.

A lot of the GOP folks are suddenly discovering how fascinating Congressional and local races can be. My brother is so wrapped up in the Congressional race he's become interested in that he really ooh boy no really just hasn't had the time to think about endorsing anyone for president (now that Carly's out).

I really loved Sayles' all-too-short-lived series Shannon's Deal (Elizabeth Pena was in it).

I really want to know what the origin of this meme is that Bernie is racist AND sexist, even though he's running to the left of Hillz. It just reads like FOX News talking points.

Most of them are deeply religious, thus well trained.

Super easy: "Lay" = you do to something or someone. "Lie" you do to yourself. You lay an egg; you lie down for a nap.

I had a sneaking suspicion you were Irish...whiskey-worshipping Papist degenerates all. And I've heard they smell.
