Many in the GOP are fearful, hateful racists and bigots who either speak out loud about wishing America was an all-white ethno-State or pouting about not being free to do so because of “political correctness.” Crime should be punished and prevented as best possible. Punishing groups of people because of their skin color or place of birth or beliefs, however, is no different than what the Nazis did at their worst. This is why today, more than ever in my lifetime, there are “good people” on “both sides.” We have taken several steps back since 2016.
