Rod Rosenstein Determined To Step In ALL The Shit On Way Out The Door
All for Attorney General Bill Barr and the hate of an ungrateful nation.
Does Rod Rosenstein think he gets out of this one unscathed? Does he actually believe that, if he's extra nice to Donald Trump, the wingnuts won't devour him and piss on his grave the second he's out the door? Because that is not how any of this works! Donald Trump was already retweeting this image of Rosenstein behind bars with Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and the rest of the "enemies of the state" last November.

Trump will be leading LOCK HIM UP chants for the deputy attorney general at those pitchfork nazi rallies before the year is up.
Just this week, Rep. Doug "Heehaw Jesus Gravy" Collins dropped the transcript of former FBI general counsel James Baker describing internal deliberations over whether Rosenstein should wear a wire to record the president obstructing justice. The GOP is clearly revving up to pretend that Cabinet members considering invoking the 25th Amendment of the Constitution is an unconstitutional coup. Republicans were always going to make Rosenstein the fall guy -- they already did it to him once with the Comey memo. And unlike Jeff Sessions, he doesn't have a Senate seat in Red State America to go back home to. Unless he wants to spend the rest of his career in the Heritage Foundation hinterlands with cranks like Hans von Spakovsky, he needs to come back to Maryland and actually practice law.
So why in the world would he go out of his way to invite the Wall Street Journal into his office to watch him roll around in this pile of MAGA bullshit?
"[Attorney General William Barr is] being as forthcoming as he can, and so this notion that he's trying to mislead people, I think is just completely bizarre," Mr. Rosenstein said.
Mr. Barr is under intense pressure to quickly produce the edited report amid concerns from Democrats that the attorney general, a longtime advocate of executive-branch authority , is seeking to protect the president from politically damaging information the report may contain. Their worries were heightened after reports that some investigators on Mr. Mueller's team had told associates in recent days that they believe the report is more critical of Mr. Trump on the obstruction issue than Mr. Barr indicated in his summary. Mr. Rosenstein wouldn't say why Mr. Mueller rendered no conclusion on that critical question.
"It would be one thing if you put out a letter and said, 'I'm not going to give you the report,' " Mr. Rosenstein said. "What he said is, 'Look, it's going to take a while to process the report. In the meantime, people really want to know what's in it. I'm going to give you the top-line conclusions.' That's all he was trying to do."
For this he protected the Mueller investigation for 18 months, absorbing body blows from Nunes, Jordan and Meadows in Congress, the lunatics in rightwing media, and that Orange Menace in the White House? So he could provide Bill Barr with cover to sweep the whole thing under the rug and launch a bullshit investigation into spying on the Trump campaign to satisfy the Fox news nutjobs?
We already know that Mueller's team put out a series of pre-redacted summaries of their findings on each topic for immediate release to Congress. We already know that Barr inserted himself into the process by claiming the president could not be prosecuted for obstruction, when there's every indication Mueller left that decision to Congress. We can see Barr playing both sides by insisting that the Justice Department can't charge a sitting president, while at the same time withholding evidence Congress would need for impeachment claiming he has to protect the "privacy rights" of uncharged parties. We heard him refuse to go to court to get Mueller's grand jury material unsealed. We already saw him blatantly misstate the law, pretending that it's impossible to obstruct justice if the underlying charges are never prosecuted. And we're watching him pivot to a ginned up investigation of the FBI itself, as if they should simply have ignored the fact that Russians were crawling all over the Trump campaign at the same time they were flooding the internet with anti-Hillary propaganda.

And this is the guy Rosenstein wants us to have "tremendous confidence" in? Is he kidding us with this shit?
Mr. Rosenstein, Mr. Barr, their top advisers and a member of Mr. Mueller's team have been involved in reviewing the report for material related to intelligence sources, continuing investigations, grand-jury matters and the privacy of individuals not charged with crimes. Mr. Rosenstein wouldn't say how it was going, only that the public should have "tremendous confidence" in Mr. Barr.
The whole Mueller report is coming out sooner or later. Either Nadler and Schiff are going to shake it loose in the courts, or a subsequent Democratic president will declassify it in its entirety. And instead of walking out of the DOJ with the grudging respect of law abiding citizens and former federal prosecutors, Rosenstein is doing backflips to cover himself in shit on his way out the door. As if it will protect him from these bloodsuckers!

Rod Rosenstein Determined To Step In ALL The Shit On Way Out The Door
😂 I laughed at this. Even though I HATE when people pronounce Cohen 'cone'. That is not a name in existence anywhere. Cohn is still pronounced 'Cohen'. Cohn is just the German spelling.
I will take my pedantry and go now. 👣
Yep. A career in the justice department is a career in overseeing, more or less, all of our really weak ass laws on white collar crime. And all the things not prosecuted that could be. Comes the day we finally end all these police shootings of unarmed black man it will be because the DOJ's civil rights division went and investigated 8 million little tiny police forces. And it will work. So many things are like they are because the top bureaucrats are just fluffers for the establishment. Instead of actually following the law.
One difference between this and all that shit is the Russian/foreign spies element. They’ve never dealt with that before so they just can’t even see it.
