😂 I laughed at this. Even though I HATE when people pronounce Cohen 'cone'. That is not a name in existence anywhere. Cohn is still pronounced 'Cohen'. Cohn is just the German spelling.

I will take my pedantry and go now. 👣

Yep. A career in the justice department is a career in overseeing, more or less, all of our really weak ass laws on white collar crime. And all the things not prosecuted that could be. Comes the day we finally end all these police shootings of unarmed black man it will be because the DOJ's civil rights division went and investigated 8 million little tiny police forces. And it will work. So many things are like they are because the top bureaucrats are just fluffers for the establishment. Instead of actually following the law.

One difference between this and all that shit is the Russian/foreign spies element. They’ve never dealt with that before so they just can’t even see it.

Well I only know that if it’s elected president. 😩

Exactly. And in so doing they learn how to 'look busy' executive style. Always have something that you’re working on that seems important. Just make sure to leave certain people untouched.

Which reminds me, when is it going to finally come out that Trump paid bribes to the New Jersey gaming commission (which has some weird name I can’t remember)? It’s obvious in David Cay Johnson’s book The Making of Trump that he did.

Sometimes the reasons things happen are just super obvious and ordinary.

Was it the FBI with Iraq? That would be the CIA's bailiwick. And they didn’t fuck it up, Cheney went and sifted through their discard intelligence. Stuff that they determined was unreliable to cobble together a picture that was what he wanted. And everyone in the administration knew that that’s what had been done.

You can wear a disguise in the copy shop. And what has your phone got to do with anything?

Not saying that would work, but the list of people with access is how you get caught. So no one would do it.

That’s why Congress needs to subpoena Mueller to just come in and tell them what’s in it.

Also, how crazy is this? This incredible security ONLY because it’s embarrassing to trump. And because Trump would insist whoever leaked it was prosecuted. And we know that, but yeah this is still normal governance.

Or straight up too cowardly to take decisive action.

Actually it’ll be interesting in subsequent years if we find out Rosenstein actually thought once the report came out it would be glanced at by the public and Congress and then put in a drawer. Like he had no comprehension of the situation he was in.

A process that will come to be called 'McCabe-ing'.

Many republicans consider Robert Bork to be an American hero for firing Archibald Cox and ending The Watergate investigation ( however temporarily ). That's why Reagan nominated him to The Supreme Court. Like Nixon Bill Barr believes that if The President does it it then it can't be illegal ( assuming it's a republican president. If a democrat tries to do anything other than recite The Pledge Of Allegiance it's executive over reach and he needs to be reigned in by the courts ).When asked why he accepted the nomination Bill Barr stated it was his " patriotic duty ". Just like it was Robert Bork's. Bill Barr knows the eventually the complete unredacted report will come out one day he's just trying to delay the inevitable.

Most people carry their phones with them all the time. One could match up copy jobs and video footage with a phone's gps data to find out who the leak is.

Right but if you’re doing something covert, just leave the phone at home.

Not everyone realizes that, which was my point.

You are. It's sorta like Pinterest that's all news; you can 'flip' articles into your own 'magazines', which others can follow. You can also just browse the days news.. I start my day there even before I'm out of bed.

That sounds interesting.

It's worth checking out. Imo. You can set topics to follow, or just pick some of theirs. It also expands your access to limited sites like WaPo - theyre still limited, but they don't count views from your browser.
