I wish people would stop waving their hands about, shouting pick me pick me! I've got something smart and edgy to say. And they get the ear of ross douche-at and puke up this convoluted mess.

I'm not snobby but I find ross to be a walking case of indigestion high on his own farts. Seriously, I'm so glad I dumped the NYT. Shame on them for letting ross pick his butt and put it in print.

So uh. I wonder if she knows that she can literally just be a guy if she would rather be a guy. (I'm pretty sure that stuff isn't actually essential to being a guy but I digress.) Like no joke... She doesn't even need to put down women that much to do it.

(Not saying she is, but a lot of trans folks in denial say some pretty wild things to distract from the pain they feel.)

😧🫨🤯 there are no words. Helen is clearly an outlier, and why we’re giving her radical take on this topic so much attention is beyond me. Hopefully her article and dusty ideas will be lining the bin very soon. I really liked your write up though. Very good breakdown of the issue.

Her and Lionel Trilling both need to get a deep, serious amount of therapy

Thank you for consuming and reporting on this pathetic stuff. Hope the indigestion is not too bad. I cannot stand to read and watch these sad dorks elaborate on their weird points of view. Their huffy indignation reminds me of Anne Coulter.

Women are bad at STEM, except Creola Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Marie Curie, Jane Goodall, Rosalind Franklin, Chien-Shiung Wu, Mary Anning, Ada Lovelace, Annie Easley, Shirley Ann Jackson, Alexa Canady, Alice Ball....

If I were a man, I would be really offended by the assertion that men are naturally brutes whose violence is only (barely) contained by laws and who can only interact with one another by dehumanizing women. Also, are women overly emotional, or are the ones who whine about asking people to behave themselves in the workplace crying too hard?

Not the point here, but I really had to wonder exactly how she'd planned to "seduce away" those men from their dates in her fantasy scenario. Some hot stuff up her sleeve for sure.

And yeah, I know.. I'm being a bitchy gossipy woman now, exactly like she says is bad. No wait! I'm being a prickly individualist. Exactly like she says is good!

Ten Foot Poles are reporting in from all corners of the globe re: Helen Andrews. Reports are all the same:

Nope.

JFC she is so fucked up I am at a loss for words outside of sociopath.

A pathetic example of a kind of Stockholm Syndrome, where the victim thinks sucking up to the people who have power over them will protect and empower them.

Who are the women pushing his sad creature into the limelight? The Phyllis Schaflys of America never died out, but married loathsome right wing men, placing their own lives in a stifling bubble that is looming over the whole ugly Project 2025.

And that whole "women are emotional creatures" bullshit forgets the fact that men have a harder time keeping their emotions in check, particularly their rage and lack of impulse control, blaming women.

"Women, you see, prioritize “empathy over rationality"

Completely missing the point that empathy is BY DEFINITION 'rational' in any civilized society. See John Rawls "Original Position"

We’ve been out of touch for a while, so I’m oddly delighted to see Todd, a friend from college, debating Andrews here. He was and clearly remains a libertarian genuinely concerned with social welfare, so — aside from his oversharing about their relationship — it’s nice and entirely consistent to see him challenge her bizarre views.

She should move to Saudi Arabia. I’ve heard that women don’t ruin workplaces over there.

so my takeaway from all that, is that at some point a man (probably repeatedly) screamed abuse at Andrews about those things, she internalised it, and is seeking to blame other women for that abuse (I have no proof that she has been abused, but that reaction sure seems like an indicator to me)

You must have been most amused by little Newton Gingrich with his opinions about how if women had to live in foxholes they would be disabled by infections. What a kidder that motherless fuck was.
