Sent Klansmen to prison for killing little girls, never tried to date one.
Alabama's Democratic candidate for US Senate, Doug Jones, got feisty in a campaign speech today, with a week to go before the special election against Roy Moore, saying "I damn sure believe and have done my part to ensure that men who hurt little girls should go to jail -- not to the US Senate." Jones, you'll recall, is best known for reopening the 1964 case against KKK members who bombed the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, killing four girls in Sunday school. Roy Moore, on the other hand, has that whole alleged child molestation thing, not to mention successfully working to keep outdated segregationist language in the Alabama Constitution, for "heritage" or maybe race-baiting, just possibly.
Jones also said he uses guns for hunting, not for "prancing around on stage," which is a pretty good line if you ask us.
Apparently the criticism stung the Moore campaign more than just a little bit -- like delicate snowflakes, they petulantly blocked Jones on Twitter so he won't be able to read their important messages of Christian love and attacking victims.
What a jerk. There should be a law requiring candidates to debate, dammit -- and not just on Twitter. (Did we mention yet that Roy Moore refuses to?) And maybe some basic standards of human decency, which in Moore's case he has not got.
Look, send Doug Jones money. He won't embarrass Alabama -- or at least, might prevent Alabama from embarrassing itself. Lord knows they need help in that area.
And it is your open thread!

I get what you're saying. I'm just saying that for Moore, it's cosplay.
So did they have this already planned for the day after the election or was it a reaction to it?I love flash mobs, and that tune, and had not seen this one.
