Our true President, Barry Bamz, was a member of a United Church of Christ congregation for twenty years -- and the UCC (well, not all the local churches, unfortunately) welcomes LGBTQ members, has been ordaining openly-gay clergy since 1972, and voted to support same-sex marriage in 2005.
[captainobvious]From the viewpoint of Sludge Roy Moore and the pseudo-Christian Orc-horde of Stupid White Folks who adore him, the real scandal is that black folks are allowed to vote at all.[/captainobvious]
My tribe. Thank the Ascended Madoka that I somehow evolved beyond my environment.
If more gets the $75k he needs it's gonna disappear with no recount. If it looks like he's not going to get it he'll probably turn on the SoS and it'll be funny because then the SoS will have to call him a sore looser and possibly have to bring up the grifty grifting. I really hope Moore looses the exchange and goes away because the SoS seems less terrible.
My dad took us to a Unitarian Church. That was how he rolled.
I often think dismissively of my parents on social issues - my dad would do that “the black culture needs to fix itself”* stuff all the time, but actually they were damn liberal in words if not always deeds. I never thought there was anything wrong with being gay, as an example, because in the 80s during the crisis, mom would talk to me about it when it showed up on the news. My dad also used to say that such and such was gay, but that did not matter.
*my family is from and lives in charlottesville. We had some discussion about the statues coming down, which he did not favor (although hates the nazi assholes). I pushed back hard on some of his commentary and found he was receptive and interested in the corrosive effects of the drug war in POC communities. At 76 he is more open minded and liberal than he has ever been, although he’s been a care carrying democrat at least since Clinton.
And the crisis actors.

People keep forgetting that there are these so-called "churches" out there that aren't full of right-wing bigots.
I think your "Republican lite" translates to "not a Republican at all, really."
We have a horrific, slow-motion crisis on our hands. Now is not the time for ideological purity.

Mainly because they do the humble thing instead of the shoutty prayer in public thing (which you're not suppose to do as a Christian anyway)
I thought we weren't supposed to hear the dog whistle.
Duh. It was one black person voting 40,000 times.

Hahaha Asia rocks!!!!
That went out when Trump ran for president and they realized the gop voters are without shame.
Sean Hannity?
Trump!
He sure helped him one!
Bannon too!
Moore is doing what trump would have done had he lost his election (and we may see this happening yet in 2020).
No wonder the guy likes him so much.
YOU MONSTER!
