Given how often both Trump and Musk lie (newsflash: a lot) why does anyone assume Musk is actually backing away? His whole mission, really, was always (likely illegal) data mining & hijacking,shutting down oversight, and rigging new contracts. Why would we expect any of this to abate? Likewise, why would anyone assume (and take an idiot victory lap) because Musk says he is backing away from efforts to buy elections? He’s just backing away from the limelight. You won’t know the claim is true until 2026 - and maybe never with all the dark money channels now.
