I think Christie (like the current, lesser Cuomo) has contracted that weird northeastern prion disease which makes him think that he's such a star that Americans are going to throw off their party affiliations and appoint him awesome centrist HGIC. Obama is catnip for those. Bloomberg actually offered himself up as his VP in 2008, and Bloomberg doesn't do elections he can't buy.
