A Malaysia Air 777 has crashed, probably shot down by a ground-to-air missile, over eastern Ukraine today. We are still in the early "very little is confirmed" stages of this story, so get ready for all sorts of maybe-facts that are likely to become fodder for suspicion and conspiracy theories. At this point, it appears that Flight MH-17 from Amsterdam, headed for Kuala Lumpur, was downed by separatist militants using a
I don't read Vox, but I support your point, When I first saw a news scroll about this, my immediate reaction to "Malaysian airliner" was that the story was some update about MH370. It took a few seconds of reading to realize that the story was, in fact, something completely different.
"The Russian leader has been supplying increasingly sophisticated weaponry to the pro-Russian anti-Ukraine"

Mind you, I'm just completely speculating off of what little I know of aircraft and airlines. But I do know that anything that disrupts "the flow" of aircraft being where they should be annoys airlines something fierce.
Currently being threatened by a MASSIVE wildfire consuming vast swaths of the Northwest Territories. Wouldn't that be unfortunate? As in, massive environmental disaster.
