In December of 2012, Adam Lanza walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School and shot 20 children and six adult staff members. Since then, the parents of those children have had to deal not only with not having their children anymore, but also with the psychotic ravings of Alex Jones and others who believe that the whole thing was an elaborate ploy to take their stupid guns away.
The Light Brigade? Aren't they the brownshirts Obama recruited to confiscate all our American light bulbs and replace them with Chinese crap? I guess when they knock on your door and demand all your light bulbs you will be a believer.
The parents are private citizens. The threshold for libel against a private citizen is far lower than for public figures. If they get any kind of competent judges and juries, Jones is going to be out millions of ameros.

Jones, from what I've seen, is a habitual loser in the cases brought against him as he was in his child custody case.
If the plaintiffs prevail, it will go along ways to muting the rest of the right wing hit squad. They will know that their inflammatory speech is a criminal act and poses liability.
The grieving parents are in the right on this and deserve to be unburdened from the hateful and crazed.
