I couldn't help thinking about ol' Chuck Schumer while reading this, and how he pushed Biden (easily) into sending more 2,000 pound bombs and a few billion $s of other lethal stuff to Israel, and who advocated for dropping most rules of military conduct against the Palestinians, including the destruction of humanitarian aid, food supplies, clean water and hospitals. Ol' Chuck ain't MAGA, but I imagine his limp old dick is stirring. All fanatical Israel supporters hate Iran and love to imagine the country as the home of the devil himself.

"...the most consequential President in a century—maybe ever."

Jesus Christ. If he could, George Washington would climb out of his grave and beat Huckleberry to death with an 18th century musket.

“I do not try to get in your presence often."

Yeah, I'd imagine the smell of shit and piss and day-glo orange makeup and flop sweat is offputting to even Mike Huckabee.

Trump has made a point of not chickening out when it comes to killing people. Killing people just makes sense to him, and probably makes more sense to his failing brain now. He is treating this like a reality show: "No one knows what I'm going to do!" Tune in next time!

Or not--you know, if Trump's bombity bomb bomb bombs took you out.

TACO could chicken out here, too. Going to war is bound to cause dissent and desertion from within the cult.

That text of Huckabee's is some of the most nauseating sycophantic ass-licking of a mere fallible mortal man - VERY fallible, and VERY much face to face with his own imminent mortality - I have ever read.

As for Huckabee's own reading lists, I find it hard to believe he's read with any close attention the Book of Revelation on which he is so fantastically tripping. Whoever that "St. John the Divine" was who wrote the thing on the island of Patmos, he clearly expected the Second Coming any day, thought it was imminent. At the very end of his hallucinatory visions about horses with scorpions' tails and the rest, he writes, (Good News Bible) "He who gives his testimony to all this says, 'Yes, indeed! I am coming soon!' So be it. Come, Lord Jesus!"

Well, the Book of Revelation was penned about 80 CE. So, unless nineteen centuries and change counts as "soon", the use by date on that ran out long ago. And the gospels cite Jesus as saying, just before his arrest on the Mount of Olives, in a private conversation with his closest disciples, that his return in power and glory would occur before all the people then living had died. Also that when they saw Jerusalem "surrounded by armies" they would know the time was near.

Uh, true believers, and Huckabee particularly, Jerusalem WAS surrounded by armies, Roman armies, in 70 CE, armies that crushed a revolt, destroyed the Second Temple, and scattered the Jewish people across the known Mediterranean world. It happened, but so long ago that, clearly, the time wasn't near. Either the gospel writers were indulging in wishful thinking and put those words in Jesus's mouth after he was crucified, or Jesus did believe it and say it, but was misled by faith himself, and was mistaken. It's wrong either way.

In the current political situation, to believe it, especially if you're in a position of power, is wrong and dangerous.

And brother, is that an understatement or what?

I have always believed the bible and the Quran are both metaphorical, and also that a lot of that stuff was written while their authors were hallucinating during a long period of fasting. Both Christianity and Islam also began as cults around a single leader.

Hucky and his ilk are literally threatening anyone who doesn't suck the same dick that he does with death. Threatening. So next time he or his ilk show up in one of those stand-your-ground states, there are plenty of people who will know what to do. Because if you feel threatened, you are allowed to take action first.
