Sarah Palin made an appearance on Sean Hannity's TV Funhouse for Aggrieved White Men last night to do something she should have done a long time ago. She was brought on the show to discuss the finer points of American foreign policy as it relates to the Islamic State, which is right up there with winking and field dressing a moose on the List Of Things Sarah Palin Is Qualified To Do. And then...oh our dear G_d, she actually apologized.
What the ever loving Hell are Walnuts and the Wasilla grifter (and half the right wing bobbleheads) talking about with a residual force in Iraq? Besides the obvious point that the al-Maliki government didn't want one and it was actually George Bush who failed to establish one, what on earth do they think a residual force would be able to do against ISIS anyways?
ISIS has been around since 2004 or so, growing and morphing and merging with other terrorist groups the whole time. Who do you think it was that we were working with during the Sunni Awakening? We were bribing these people to stand down in 2006 and 2007 in order to create a window for W to put his puppet al-Maliki in charge, establish a sham government and turn the whole mess over to them before the end of his presidency and before all hell broke loose.
At the height of the surge we had close to 200,000 combat troops going after the bad guys, yet ISIS continued to flourish in the isolated areas of Iraq that we were unable to deal with effectively. What exactly do Walnuts and Silly Sarah think a residual force of a couple thousand non combat soldiers who would've been stationed in and around Baghdad could have done about the 10,000 or so at that point members of ISIS hiding out in the desert? If it was so easy to stamp out ISIS, why didn't we do so before we left? The entire premise that some small residual force could have done anything about ISIS is pure, weapon's grade bullshit. It absolutely amazes me that the media lets them get away with this idiocy (not Hannity of course, but the supposed 'real' journalists don't blink an eye when Walnuts spouts out his stupidity)
i have not read a single credible account of our last 10 years in the middle east in any major media for a long time. and we all FUCKING LIVED IT. and heard the news. and know what happened. (and i'm not talking obscure conspiracy crap. i'm taking facts, like SOFA.)
of course politics is not best served by those with memories. or facts.
I wish to issue a global apology that this nitwit was foisted onto the stage by another nitwit, and that millions upon millions of other nitwits wanted her to be one elderly heartbeat away from being President.
I'm making a beeline for John McCain
The Blitzed Krieg
I'm sure that a lot of US citizens, mostly in the South, consider the USA to be one of "them Bible places".

How does Sarah Palin manage to juggle being a wife, a mother, and a shitty journalist all at once? Amazing!
I forgive her.
