Rooted out corruption, worked with Democrats, taxed oil companies, but then the inner Sarah started coming out. Trying to get her sister's husband fired during divorce. Billing the state for travel when she was at home. Etc. Then she quit in the worst way possible to piss off Alaskans. She quit at the annual Governor's Picnic in Fairbanks, announcing she could slog ahead for the next two years, "but that's the quitter's way!" And then quit. If she'd said she was cashing in on her moment of fame, many Alaskans would have sympathized. Now? Couldn't win any election in Alaska.
