Yesterday, at age 71, author Joe McGinniss passed away after a battle with prostate cancer. It was one of those "hey wait WHAT" moments that makes its way across Twitter swiftly and you're not even sure you believe it after checking Wikipedia. McGinniss was a provocateur his entire career. If there was a controversial exciting book-length journalism thing that happened in the last 45 years or so, Joe McGinniss was likely at the heart of it. He was famous for going to great lengths to get close to a subject and, in the process, bending or outright stomping on (depending on who you ask) the rules of ethical journalism.
There were two great accomplishments of Duh Gov's brief time in office. The socialistic ACES program, which is being repealed because oil companies don't want to continue to do business in the state.
McGinness the youngster bamboozled his way onto the 1968 Nixon campaign and wrote a scathing book uncovering then-new manipulative techniques The Trickster's handlers devised—such as packing audiences at "public" appearances with Nixon-friendly folks. That was cool.
Then he attached himself to Jeffrey McDonald (the &quot;Green Beret&quot; doctor who murdered his wife and kids) and his defense team. McGinniss told McDonald he believed in his innocence, and encouraged him to continue his appeals long after he (McGinness) realized McDonald was guilty. That wasn&#039;t so cool, but it did make for an exellent book (<i>Fatal Vision</i>)
Just another road bump on Sarah&#039;s highway to being a perpetual victim.
Oh, to have known a young, Nixon-loving Roger Ailes before he mellowed into Fox News impartiality.
Once OJ himself gets out of the pokey for robbery, that is.

And the AGIA gas pipeline that cost over $300,000,000 for nothing. You can read Joe McGinniss&#039; excellent article about that here: <a href="http:\/\/upstart.bizjournals.com\/executives\/features\/2009\/03\/17\/Governor-Palins-Big-Energy-Battles.html" target="_blank">" rel="nofollow noopener" title="http://upstart.bizjournals.com/executives/feature...">http://upstart.bizjournals....
RIP Joe. The Klondike Kardashian can now take the pins out of the doll.
