Explain ourselves? My dear sir, we are Christians. We don't explain ourselves.

"Not every human is deserving of my child's empathy." Christian love without empathy. lol. No wonder these folks are so f**ked up.

And they're expecting that kid to take care of them in their old age.

Many, many years ago, I predicted that right wing crazies would some day sue for the right to hate and teach their children to hate. And now here we are.

Like The Simpsons said, sometimes it sucks to be right.

Actually they HAVE explained why such classes on empathy violate their religious Christian beliefs. It goes something like this:

Empathy would enable their kids to identify with and understand others better, especially others not like them, this may lead them to sympathize with such people who are not like them and that's a bad and sinful thing because "not everybody is deserving of their empathy" like the gays for example. How would they be able to re-indoctrinate teach their kids to hate love like Christians do and persecute the gays and such?

This can also be applied more broadly to the right wing ideology which is centered around in and out groups. Empathy could overturn this structure and dynamic and they can't have that happen.

I've noticed that certain "Christians" get mighty upset when you trample on their god-given right to trample on other people's rights. There are just so many really basic things these people don't understand. How does one even begin to wade into their tiny-minded, narrow-souled viewpoint?

Well, Jesus did use a whip once, when he chased the money changers out of the Temple. I doubt he was wearing leather at the time, though.

One doesn't. One runs far far away from the nasty crazy people because there's just no reasoning with them.

making everyone else feel guilty

I think I found the problem. They're confusing empathy with guilt. I mean, you feel bad and next thing somebody is going to expect you to do something .... repent, maybe. Sell what you have and give to the poor.

I see this family practices the thing Jesus said when he said not everyone deserves my love - hate them all!.

Funny how different people heard Jesus's words
