Scottie Nell Hughes: Men Talking About Pussy Grabbing Just Like Women Getting Their Periods
Hughes and Ochsner have been buds for a while.
Over the past few months, our nation has been delighted by an ongoing slew of great Scottie Nell Hughes moments -- and I think we can all agree that she is the breakout star of the Trump campaign. I am in fact secretly holding out hope that she gets her own show on Bravo, so that I may bingewatch it and then feel super guilty about it later.
Perhaps you thought she hit her high point when she got all sad about Hillary Clinton being so bigoted towards bigots, or when she got all huffy and puffy over Ana Navarro saying the word "pussy" just like how Donald Trump said the word "pussy." But as it turns out, we had not yet hit peak Scottie Nell Hughes.
In an interview on Minnesota's "Ox in the Afternoon" radio program, Hughes explained to host Dan Ochsner that Trump and men like him bragging about sexual assault is basically the same deal as women getting their periods. Confused? Me too!
Ochsner Was pretty sure none of the women he knows were offended by Trump's comments, because they understand that -- as women -- it is their duty to put up with stuff like that.
“I haven’t talked to a single female who says they’re disgusted by this. They shrug it off, you women have been putting up with men for all these years with all our faults and everything, you always seem to look beyond it and what you see in us I don’t know, but we appreciate it, whatever it is.”
Ochsner could have just stopped right at “I haven’t talked to a single female," no? But Hughes agreed. And went even further!
“That’s it right there. Is the stuff they’re saying wrong? Yeah, absolutely, I would definitely be very upset with somebody if they said that to my daughter, if they very much said it to my face.”
“But you know what? Just like -- and this is going to be so sexist, I can believe I’m actually going to say it, but I like you, I like your listeners a lot. If you’re going to complain about men making pig-headed sexist comments amongst each other and you’re going to be shocked and surprised about it, that’s kind of like saying that you shouldn’t be shocked bywomen who have emotional breakdowns once a month and are crying all the time and men can’t figure out why.I mean, there’s a reason why God made us different. We have different hormones, we have different things running through our bodies, it is what it is.” [emphasis added]
God gave us different hormones because he wanted men to talk about grabbing women by the pussy! IT IS JUST SCIENCE.
Is any of this a thing? Really? Like, there are actual men that somehow can't figure out how periods work AND who make comments about sexual assault because they are on their man periods and just cannot control themselves or something? I FEEL LIKE NONE OF THESE THINGS ARE THINGS! I am pretty sure that most men know menstruation exists and that sexually assaulting women or bragging about doing so is not a good thing to do.
I am not suggesting men do not have a hormonal cycle, because they do -- I am just saying that their hormone cycle probably does not cause them to make comments to anyone about grabbing a woman's pussy. That's not a thing. If it is a thing for them, they should probably seek both counseling and some kind of hormone therapy, because that is not normal.
Pretending it's normal and acceptable and OK for men to say things like "grab her by the pussy" is why a lot of the women accusing Trump are just coming forward now. Because for a long time, women felt like this was something they just had to put up with because they're a woman and men are men, and that's how things are. It is now time for men like Donald Trump to get hep to the fact that this is no longer "just how things are" and that if they want to run for President of a country -- and not a males-only country club -- they don't get to be the kind of person who says that shit.

how do they not understand that "I would like to kiss her", even "I would like to do [insert naughty things here] with her" is not the same as, "I do the sexual assaults to women ALL THE TIME because I am ORANGE!". one is imaginary, the other is an admission of past behavior. one assumes that if the imaginary statement comes true that it is with consent, one assumes that the past tense means something already happened.
For fark's sake, is he saying half of the entire human population is having clinical-grade emotional breakdowns with nonstop sobbing for an entire week of every month?
If so, how the hell do we get anything done as species? Have any female commercial or Air Force pilots lost their shiat and sobbed hysterically smack-dab mid-flight during menstruation? Female surgeons can't finish an operation because WHAAAAAA due to their period??? Did Medieval planting of food go unplanted because it occurred during menstruation, the result of which would be mass starvation?
Since men have for millennia used menstruation as an excuse to ban women from work for pay other than on their backs, seek degreed education, own homes or businesses, sign legal documents, vote and even learn to READ, I wonder if perhaps a huge percentage of these claims of female collapse during menstruation are a myth.
The church blaming menstruation as a curse from God because our gender was allegedly the first to sin and are solely responsible for men's as well, has done irreparable harm to us that will take another 1,000 years to reverse.
If there are women emotionally debilitated during menstruation, I'd strongly urge them to hunt down and see any and every possible doctor who could explain some science on it and offer something to replace or reduce whatever hormone is responsible.
If this spineless snake were my son, as a mother I'd feel it my duty to punch him right in the face for saying that kind demeaning bullshiat about me and all women who've toiled and struggled on this earth, past, present and future.
