Saw that, and was shocked not at the words spoken, but at the fact that I wasn't surprised.

What a weird alternative universe we're now in.

I forget where I heard it, but someone was asking why beards are suddenly so trendy lately, and the response was "Growing a beard is literally the only thing left that women CAN'T do."

How dare this clown besmirch the reputation of the bravest most competent, yet long suffering military man in history, Donald Trump? How dare he lampoon the raw recruit who ran the mile in under three minutes, who hit the bullzeye every time he shot his gun, and who the generals consulted for strategic advice! How dare he mock the man who took a commie bayonet at Chosin Reservoir and stormed the beach at St Gaudens! How dare he laugh at the officer who led the charge at the Battle of Starbucks Counter and went on to raid the fortified cathedral at Somerset Bakery. He was never defeated, never captured, and never backed down from the difficult missions they saved for him. Commanders suggested impossible missions and Donald Trump saluted and said "Can do!" What a guy! This character, McBirdBrain, should keep that job in the food truck where he's competent.

Tangentially related - when I first went to college in the early 70s, smoking was allowed in roughly three-quarters of the classrooms where I went to school.

So the generals get it, that's nice to know that some of them do anyway. They could've just asked the everyday average Democratic voter and we would've enlightened them. Its sort of the military man's duty to be devoted and proud to and of the nation that they choose to live in, protect and serve. They are actually under oath, so it gives some pause because we do it without the fear of impending jail time or job loss. The military should be the first out of the gate doncha think, considering that they know things and protecting the US is their mission, not electing Republican/Russian assets.

Realizing that Hair Trumpper is bad and dangerous and compromised is not the test, if this military man's word carries more weight then he should direct it to the soldiers that listen to him and help to turn the typical freebie, love the Repubs feeling of the military people against the enemy he has recognized. We already know the damage Trumpler is doing, we need those in power or near power to react appropriately and not just blow hot air.

Why the Democrats didn't give a 30 second tutorial about Roy Cohn four times an hour during the 2016 campaign, I dunno. Maybe it wouldn't have worked, or it wouldn't have polled well. But a guy like Cohn, you'd throw your shoe away rather than try to scrape his residue off.
