Some people (mainly batshit crazy conspiracy theorists) believe that Viet Nam is *still* holding a number of American P.O.W.s in remote jungle camps a la Rambo: First Blood Part II, and (from what I understand*) some families of Vietnam-era P.O.W.s have come to believe that the flag has become a means to perpetuating various scams against them.

*Mostly rumors that I've heard through a relative who helped to support a P.O.W. family for a while through their church. If anyone has any actual facts, please don't hesitate to correct me.

I've been living in Georgia since 1981. When I arrived, the State flag incorporated the traitor colors. Since then, after several changes from the 1956 one, the current flag bears the State seal surrounded by 13 stars and 3 stripes: red, white, red. Nobody — at least not officially or publicly —calls to return to the traitor flag.

Pretty sure they'd like Sharia law if they just gave it a chance. It hates all the same people as the Talibangelicals. A rose by any other name....

I drove through Alabama in the mid-90s and saw a literal chain gang of 100% black prisoners picking cotton under the supervision of a shotgun wielding white overseer on a horse. It was jaw dropping, and I lived in NC at the time.

The magnolia flag is nice.

It's a giant deal that members of Mississippi college foootbawl teams are also telling Mississippi that they would prefer not to play under the flag that celebrates their enslavement.

And good for them.

It is obviously his penis. lol. I actually looked it up, and it is the sheathed sword of authority.

For some reason Disqus is giving me a hard time posting pictures, but the older versions of the seal are way better.

I love a good magnolia tree, which is how I know that’s not a magnolia tree. Looks like a fried egg tree, which is even better.

I am late to the party and so maybe this has been said, but many people in my town fly this flag instead of the treason flag. In fact, when we had a decent mayor, this was the flag at city hall.https://www.stennisflagflye...

Pledging allegiance to a state flag?

Hell, when I was a kid they sometimes made us sing the then state song of Pennsylvania and I only had to pipe that ♫ to thee we pledge our devotion.♫
