Just another routine reminder to you filthy fuckaducks that the rules remain in effect. You don't need to say anything nice about Charlie Kirk. There isn't much nice to be said, but you are not allowed to call for violence against others. we do not allow that shit, ever.
As for whether you want to exult over his murder, I'd call that pretty fucking gross, and remind you that rightwingers are highly likely to be cherry-picking comments on progressive sites for evidence that "the left" must be eliminated.
I'm a wacked out fuckabilly. I had to issue a very sternly worded (some allcaps sections) response to some shit people were posting on a conservative friend's post. I basically dared them to go to a country where people think its fun to shoot their fellow countrymen, and see if its really fun. Plot twist: it's not fun. edit: the right wing people looking for content are going to find quite a lot. The quips and one-liners on ______ are pretty wild, I will be honest...
As always, whenever someone I don't necessarily think is going to the Good Place has shed their mortal coil, my wish for them is this: May they find the afterlife they deserve.
Charlie held some beliefs that were kind of messed up, but I think he was actually sincere in them. Wasn't just in it for the fame and money or to please Trump More than can be said for many others.
I do not see any prohibition here about honoring Charlie Kirk's memory with the same rhetorical firewood he so liberally used during his sad sojourn here on this mortal coil. It would be a Viking funeral that Charlie would approve of.
RWNJs cherry picking our comments for evidence of our vile and heinous evil nature would be an improvement upon their normal standard operating procedure. Ever since Joseph McCarthy first baited his first pinko the standard conservative tactic has been to MAKE IT ALL COMPLETELY UP and then have corporate media shills do all the rest of the heavy lifting. The internet has only sped the process up and made it more efficient.
In the course of a busy life rich in horrors, I have learned to self-censor myself online to maintain a working relationship with other people. However, I find myself at times provoked into releasing my Inner Bastard and saying the wrong things.
At times like this, I need to cool my rage and rules help curb my darker impulses.
I don’t exult in anyone’s murder, ever. Violence is inherently destabilizing and the online far right has been flirting with disaster since they went all in for Trumpist terrorism.
I don’t expect them to change direction now that it’s claimed one of their own, because none of them want to wear the responsibility. They will continue screeching about “the Left!!1!!1” instead of looking in the mirror.
This is not a pushback - I agree with both Dok's principles and strategic thinking here - just an observation:
When discussing the death of an enemy, the line between acknowledging their toxicity and suggesting/acknowledging that the world just might be a better place without them in it, and "celebrating" or "exulting in" their death, can be bright and clear in theory but wide and fuzzy in practice. Especially to outsiders eager to find conspiracy and malice in a humble forum such as ours.
When I first happened on the news of that hateful little turd's demise, my first thought was that it was too good to be true. I have a long list of similar assholes who need to leave the stage, too, whether stage left or stage right, who cares.
I remember in imagined lives past, looking at windrows of fallen enemies and feeling nothing. Neither gladness nor hate nor compassion. Just relief it was all over and a profound weariness in mind and body. I'd like to think I'd feel compassion now after fifty yrs of meditation. It is the appropriate response.
This reminds me of one of my father's old jokes: A boy is loitering in a train station. A man comes up and asks how to catch the train to Chicago. The boy replies, "Well, sir... Turn left and you'll be right." The man, annoyed, replied, "What kind of crap is that?" The boy went on, "Well, sir... turn right and you'll be left."
Sure, he was an extreme right, pathologically lying, evil, white "Christian" supremacist/nationalist bigot who promoted and incited hate and violence, but at the end he leaned left.
I'm a little ashamed to admit I had no idea who Kirk was until he got murdered.
As for the libs who did know (like outlets like MSNBC) they should be ashamed of canonizing him with "free speech." IMO it's okay to report his death, the horrible things he said, and to point out Trump forgot to mention J6 (where more than on person died in the name of "radical RIGHT political violence." Just to compare and contrast Trump's idiocy.
Some Youths walked by whining about Communist Cambridge and Socialist Somerville. They are going to find the People's Republic of Massachusetts an interesting place to live...
The 4 minute "statement" from the orange occupant is now speculated to have been massaged by AI, as during his appearance today at the 9/11 memorial services, it's very clear he's had a stroke recently and half his face is attempting to escape the fur on his hair.
Trump and his MAGA supporters are mad as hell that Kirk died a gruesome violent death before thousands of college students in Utah. They’re going nuts on Fox and social media blaming “the radical left “ and swearing revenge. So one of their more rabid lieutenants was gunned down and what? Those who despise Trump and the MAGA Republicans and everything they stand for caused Kirk’s demise? Really isn’t that a bit of a stretch? Most Americans had no idea who he was and Democrats have other issues to protest like the monstrous tax breaks for billionaires and cuts to health insurance for poor Americans. Hey MAGA, sorry your guy was killed but get a life. This is America. Gun violence is as American as apple pie.
they should be celebrating his life instead of mourning and threatening non-fans.
When I die. I put money aside for a big party for my friends of which many friends and relatives have pre-deceased me so maybe I can spend some of that money now.
but back to the topic.
they should have a big party. it is not everyone who can become a symbol of their own words. He said that to die so that people can still have guns is not a big cost, so he gets to be one of the small costs and not worry people about carrying arms. By mourning so loudly, his friends are almost robbing him of this cost value and, as a result. may cost others of some of their gun rights..
Ta, Dok. I have great respect for The Rules. I have zero respect for Charlie Kirk, none for his followers, and less than none for that loser Chaya Raichik. Not only is she a gender traitor and a shanda in her role as wannabe kapo. She has the nerve to call herself by half of my Hebrew name. She doesn't deserve it. Out of respect for the rules for radicals, I shall not say what it is I think she does deserve.
I suppose it's too soon to suggest that we need to do something about all the guns and the ease with which people who shouldn't have access to guns can get them, right?
I mean, we wouldn't want to politicize this tragedy.

It was grift pure and simple.
TPUSA is a multi-million dollar fundraising machine. Not bad for a college dropout with corporate sponsors.
ima give it a shot. charlie kirk had more hair and was a better person overall than stephen miller. that wasn't so hard.
Taller, also too.
I'm with you until "more hair".
They pursued the same goals

That was honest. The talking heads empathy ignores history and what the USofA is.
so then, just a less unfortunate hairline?
Just read the the piece, sir
lol
"So where can I get a 'piece?"

I offered my "tots and pears" yesterday and was promptly labeled a "Crisis Asshole". I think that should be my next tattoo.
Crisis Asshole would be a good name for a punk rock band.
" I Got the Rectocranial Inversion Blues" Single from debut album release of the same name.
I think you'll appreciate this piece

Is Speculative Conspiracy Theory 101 allowed?

If we didn't make nasty comments the right would just make some up anyway.
The gap between what we do and what they say we do is growing by the hour
Thanks for the reminder, Dok.
Is it *really* necessary, though?
I mean -- really??

Well, people have been seen in the parking lot doing a dance called "Chunk Kirk's bumpstick boogie."
Ok, that was just me, but I was also warming up for BLACK SABBATH, THE BALLET.
I LURVE Black Sabbath, the Ballet.
We shouldn't need it, but there you are.
I don't think we really do need it
I am, however, in the minority both literally and figuratively
But I'm thrilled that Professor William Horne not only agrees with me, but articulates why better than I can at this juncture

So we shouldn't drag Hector's body through the quad?

They've been calling for our violent elimination; they don't need an excuse.

I'm the radical left!
I'M the radical left!
In the eyes of the reich, anybody to the left of Sean Hannity is radical left.
I'm the radical left, and so's my wife!
I'm just sinister.
I'm the leftist of all!
If I get any further left I'll be on the right
no horseshoes, please
Today, I feel like the redacted left.
🙂
I definitely feel like I have been left.
Mood...
“We’re the lefties?”
I *am* a leftie.
Oh, me too.
Same!

Mr. Beam, you're a blackguard, a liar, a hypocrite and a stench in the nostrils of honest men.

Second time I’ve stumbled onto your feed . Second time I’ve determined you to be a complete idiot. Well done
That sounds like a you problem. "Stumbled" is doing a lot of work in your complaint, Billy.
Interesting that he was shot under a tent that said, “prove me wrong.” Guess someone decided to take him up on it.
"Hey, wait a minute! Second Amendment soultions are only supposed to apply to librulz!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Hitler like Kirk, was into "free speech" too.

JD Vance traveled with Charlie Kirk's casket on Air Force 2 today. Vance said that the cushions and silk linings of the casket were nice fucking.
My too early call is the Trump admin will never tell us who did it.
Take your pick:
- they're too incompetent to find them
- the person falls in their lap and their politics would hurt rather than help.
I suppose it's too soon to suggest that we need to do something about all the guns and the ease with which people who shouldn't have access to guns can get them, right?

Kirk personally lobbied to make sure that both open and concealed carry are permitted on college campuses in Utah.
They did say the shooter blended in on campus.
Enjoy your time in hell, Charlie. And not the good Hell with all the cool stoners and adulterers and such.
Charlie was A-OK for the 2A. Now Dems need to push for "the Charlie Kirk Memorial Gun Safety Act" -- so the GOP can vote against it. 'Nuff said.
