Why do the smile at him? He’s an egotistical woman hating POS that has not one clue wtf he’s doing.

My whole life, I've heard about how rude the French people are. Well, this was clearly a time for rudeness. Were they?

And here I thought we were running out of ways to shoot ourselves in the metaphorical dick.

Many times in my life I have found myself mismatched to a task or role, and I have inevitably course-corrected and proven myself to be a valuable team member, citizen, and person, sometimes in ways unexpected. Other times, I have given myself the advice I now bestow upon Uncle Pete:

Brah.

Stay in your lane, brah.

Seriously.

Brah.

I've been to the beaches at Normandy and there's pretty much nothing I had to say afterwards. Both my grandfathers fought there. One made it back home. I just remember looking out over the Channel to the north and then the land to the south and I was just struck by how terribly fucking beautiful it was. It seemed too beautiful for all the death that had happened there.

My grandfather was with the British army there. He remembered his American comrades with great respect and affection.

I have this stupid video in my mind of one of my grandfathers sharing a beer with yours.

I hope it happened.

Another weird thing we need to talk about is the right’s love/hate relationship with Europe. They hate that Europe has become more multicultural (ie, less white and less Christian) and they hate that Europe is, in general, more friendly to socialism than America is. They hate that Europe still takes up a large amount of our defense resources but refuses to get involved in many of our stupidest wars this century. This despite the fact that NATO is main reason why there’s never been a WWIII. Indeed, the past 80 years have been one of the most peaceful periods in European history.

On the other hand, they love that there is an undercurrent of fascism in Europe that appears to be gaining steam. And they endorse it whenever they can. Kegsbreath’s message was meant for those European fascists, the same ones Bovino hung out with last week. And the message was, “America is with you.”

One thing I’ve been tracking over the past few years is how close we are to the day when mainstream conservatives start openly saying we were on the wrong side of WW II. And we’ve never been closer to that day, with the normalizing of Nick Fuentes and Greg Bovino attending a fascist conference in Portugal where he spoke admiringly of Irwin Rommel.

Kegsbreath brought even closer to that day where he seemed to forget that the men whose sacrifices he was there to honor were the ones who stormed the beaches of Europe. The defenders of the beach were the Nazis. In his clumsy metaphor, where he equated allied forces with the “ideology” of immigration that today’s Europeans must defend against, he laid bare the growing sympathy the American right has with fascism in general and Nazism in particular.

I, for one, would love to see an ideology storm Omaha beach.
