Every time I see Hegseth try to do his job I am reminded of the worst boys in middle school, the punkiest era of most human lives. They're at the stage in life where they naturally rebel against authority, and someone has to be on the edge of the bell curve and really push beung a jerk. Most mature out of it. Pete just decided to camp there in 8th grade purgatory for the rest of his life. He's just a jerk, and he has no business in a position of authority or security. A real media would ask the president why he thinks this zero-qualified psych job should be in charge of our national security. Neither of them is capable or deserving of their job.
I liked it when he pretended that an unauthorized war with Ira* for no reason with no strategy and no exit plan was not comparable to the other war with Ira* (a war his boss supported at the time). The first war with Ira* was at least semi-authorized.
“When someone tells me for 47 years that they want to kill us, I think I am going to take them at their word.”
Meanwhile, he is killing Iranian school girls, and Iran hasn't been launching strikes at the U.S. homeland... ...hell, most of the administrations before him were competent enough to not get American soldiers killed by Iran, unlike him.
I tried to watch some of this today but I couldn't tolerate all the sycophants who kept telling Kegsbreath what an amazing job he's doing. I wanted to see an epic takedown but all I got was a Republican circle jerk.
“The biggest challenge, the biggest adversary we face at this point are the reckless, feckless and defeatist words of congressional Democrats, and some Republicans,”
WELL, AT LEAST WE DON'T HAVE TO BEAR THINKING ABOUT ALL THE DEAD AND MAIMED!
“ ...far from victory, US citizens were having to bear the cost of a war they did not support in the form of increased fuel prices.,” said Reed, a senator from Rhode Island.
You know Hank, if you've ever watched Sylvester Stallone's "Expendables," movies you'd notice this kind of adolescent male action stuff is just what Hegseth dreams of. He's not a real veteran (as you and I are) or he wouldn't glory in taking human life.
A series of action hero shoot-em-ups produced over a 13 year period by Hollywood. Decidedly right wing and hyper-macho. Like the Terminator and Aliens franchises it proved very popular.
I think it's having to choose between driving to and from work or feeding one's children that is blinding people to the truth of the success of this mission.
Do we understand correctly that Court Jester Pete called King Trump the "sharpest, most inciteful commander-in-chief we’ve had in generations"? As in someone who perpetually incites hatred, resentment and chaos?
NYT: "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told Congress on Thursday that President Trump does not have to comply with a law requiring presidents to seek congressional authorization to continue a war beyond 60 days because the cease-fire agreement reached with Iran has paused the clock on any such obligation."
"Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth [sic] learns in real time — and is forced to emotionally process — that the reason America hasn’t won a war in 80-someodd years actually has nothing to do with girls or Black people or gays or transgender people, but on foreign policy concepts he’s far too stupid and inexperienced to understand"
* Kegbreath is incapable of learning bupkis, in real time or hindsight.
> "That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons of history." Aldous Huxley
* The ~80 year figure has a flaw and a perceived one also:
◾ Perceived: the US won in Korea even though there was only a shaky agreement of a ceasefire.
◾ The US has accomplished stated goals of a conflict -- once since WW II -- 35 years ago (even though this too ended in a ceasefire):
(And let me add that, unlike the Fulvous Fuckwad going it alone -- well almost alone since that great humanitarian, Bibi (bless his heart), stands shoulder to shoulder with him -- and then berating our allies for not supporting him, Bush41 knew better:
> "Bush met with the National Security Council that same day to discuss a U.S. response to Hussein’s invasion. On his way to Colorado for a meeting at the Aspen Institute, he began to engage in his trademark “telephone diplomacy,” building a coalition of world leaders against Hussein’s actions." https://millercenter.org/statecraftmovie/gulf-war)

“It’s very difficult to change the culture of a department that has been destroyed by the wrong perspectives with the same officers that were there,” Hegseth whined. “So you think General George destroyed a culture?”
* Gen George had to go; he was a walking example of woke military leaders. How can we, as a nation, expect to live, thrive, and survive with pussies like George running the military?
* A follow-up question for Kegbreath; is allegedly destroying a culture worse than openly declaring a desire to commit genocide?

The nice thing about this is Evan making it hilarious. Hicseth, nothing to sing that hasn't been sung.

He and Trump don't care about the American troops they are killing.

Ta, Evan. Dicktator Tot's nethers seem to need many tongue-baths on a daily basis.

The dems did a pretty decent job but the republicans were indeed sycophants. Tom Cotton was particularly odious.
“The biggest challenge, the biggest adversary we face at this point are the reckless, feckless and defeatist words of congressional Democrats, and some Republicans,”
Snowflake Pete thinks that words are violence?
I'd like to see him handle an 11 hour grilling like Sec. Clinton did without losing her equanimity.

I bet Petey will be the last man left standing after Trump rototills his cabinet. He is the macho man military guy Trump fantasizes about.
"I can only imagine the outlines of his love cannon" whispered the president as he dozed off.
Ugha Bugha!
You can almost smell his lack of testosterone!!

Someone should ask him if he has ever seen a person who has died by violence.
Who movies?

Just SMH. That is all.
Okay, I lied. ‘We’re gonna burn [Washington] down as well’ is pretty funny. So LMAO, while SMH.
Do we understand correctly that Court Jester Pete called King Trump the "sharpest, most inciteful commander-in-chief we’ve had in generations"? As in someone who perpetually incites hatred, resentment and chaos?
Well!, bravo, Pete! At least ya got that right.
NYT: "Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told Congress on Thursday that President Trump does not have to comply with a law requiring presidents to seek congressional authorization to continue a war beyond 60 days because the cease-fire agreement reached with Iran has paused the clock on any such obligation."
Says who?
So they're just going to keep up the bombing for the next 10 years while touting the "cease-fire" on Truth Social.
Or they just keep blockading the blockade, as long as no shots fired.
