And nothing of value was lost....other than good people and programs sacrificed to a billionaire's ego.

It has amazed and concerned me since DOGE came on the scene that there's been almost zero coverage of their theft of millions of people's confidential information. tRump's contracting with Palantir is even scarier. I wrote/called a dozen Congresscritters on the relevant committees, plus my own representatives, about all of this, and....crickets. Zero from MSM, but that's not surprising. If ever there was a hair-on-fire issue, this is it.

AKA destroying the evidence.

So DOGE is the true Deep State, sabotaging the government from within.

Anyone who worked for a company that got asset stripped knows exactly what DOGE was for — run a scream test on every department until it’s as tiny as it can be. The pitch is that it will be more efficient but it really means getting rid of all the costs before gutting it.

Ta, Marcie. Elon should die broke and alone. That's what he seems to be working toward. As for his DOGE boys, let's neuter them and put them up for adoption. Maybe they can join the army -- in Russia.

This won't interfere with the delivery of my $5,000 DOGE check, will it?

Glad we finally got out of DOGE.

And just when DOGE was about to fix the deficit once and for all

Belle has referred to this as the Chesterton's Fence Administration, because of their tendency to tear stuff down without understanding why it was there in the first place. Often to try and put things back up later, because it turns out that they were important after all.

Load-bearing wall? Never heard of such a thing.

Oh you mean THAT Constitution .

DOGE was all about softening up the nation to Trump's many illegal activities later on. No one will admit it, but it also proved that the government isn't full of waste, abuse and fraud.

As a federal civil servant (still) I'm glad they are gone. Still can't read this article.

Yeah, but didn't these dickheads snatch all our personal data in their gross plundering? I mean...I feel like doge is still screwing with us.

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Considering that all our info has been hoovered up and is sitting in server farms in god-knows-where, to be sold and re-sold, um....DOGE will have the potential to screw us until we're gone.

PuraVida's avatar

Until they are all in prison for identity theft and data theft they are still screwing us.

Perhaps 80 million or so citizens can bring a class action suit against the Gubmint for betraying our confidentiality and trust?

Denise Donaldson's avatar

Probably a lot more than that. Anyone who's paid taxes, received Social Security benefits or other government assistance, anyone who's been paid by the government for anything, Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac recipients, all the Covid stimulus check recipients, and so on.

MW Word of the Day is Purgatory- That is what I wish for Musk and his entire DOGE crew.

Lyn Fenex's avatar

I think purgatory is worse because it offers hope that you could be released

What, hell not good enough for them?

Beautifying government web sites is kind of a demotion after co-founding AirBnB. Like it or hate it, AirBnB is a cultural success.
