I used to be in charge of a highway crew in California near the Nevada border. My entire crew lived in Nevada, and none of them showed up for work on Halloween, no call, nothing. That's how I learned that October 31 is Nevada Day, and they just took it for granted that it was a holiday in California too.
The Cosmo article about the woman dating right wing assholes is maddening. Why... WHY... do we keep saying that we 'need to understand' these people. We ALREADY understand them. they are assholes. The fact that there are a lot of them doesn't change that. We should avoid them, shun them, don't date them, don't invite them to dinner, don't remain friends with them. If there are no consequences for asshole behavior, then that behavior will become 'successful'.... which is... bad. Let's not do that, K?
They need serious deprogramming to explain just how relationships actually work. They want the wimmin folk to quit working forgetting that most American families really need two incomes to just pay the bills. Add to that so many other costs. I don’t know the cost to have and raise a child to the age of 18 but I’ve heard that it’s pretty damn expensive before you even consider higher education.
