The difference is that legitimate anonymous sources are, and always have been, an important part of responsible journalism. A source has to be confirmed at least twice by other sources for it to be considered legitimate and published. Dump's "anonymous sources" are always "many people," "people are saying," and "a lot of people are saying." In other words, they're the voices that live in his head. Nothing legit about them.

Rather than telling the actual truth and being able to reasonably spin it as "Obama sucks, I fixed it," which would be a defensible if hyperbolic position, Trump and Co. instead choose to continue with the straight up lie because Trump CAN'T LET ANYONE THINK OBAMA DID SOMETHING GOOD. It's so pathetically on brand.
Yeah, it seems to have only been on that one article. Why it was a two page I don't know - you didn't get exxxtra content to speak of on pg 2. And could only go back to the previous story, not forward. Maybe its an experiment?
That was an extremely weaselly performance by Wilkie. Heat of the campaign - right. The only credible excuse for Assmouth's comments would amount to something like, "He doesn't really hate our troops - he was just throwing a tantrum because he didn't want to go, and so he lashed out at whatever he could because he's got the temperament of a spoiled four-year-old."
