Might deliver a baby, might sterilize you. It's terrific either way. While everyone's watching the fallout from James Comey's testimony about Donald Trump trying to put the kibosh on the Michael Flynn investigation, Senate Republicans keep toiling away in the dark on their version of killing Obamacare, which they'll either unveil when they're good and ready to
That's more or less what the burn it all down crowd was saying during the election (looking at you, Susan Sarandon). Thing is, I don't deserve to die to get the country to socialized healthcare. I didn't sign up for that. Those of us that will die - or even just suffer - without Medicaid/Medicare as a fallback are not abstractions, we're real people who don't want to die and leave behind spouses and children and loved ones. We're not going to just sit back and let them have what they want and hope for the best, because some of us will not survive that. You can't ask people not to fight for their lives because maybe in the future voters will finally see the value of socialized medicine for the people who didn't die (and I'm not convinced they actually will see the value, even then).
But after Hatch? I just googled it. Tillerson, I think. If you'd told me 4 months ago that would be a relief, I would have laughed in your face. Now he feels like a grown-up. Maybe this is why his wife told him he had to do the job.
I struggle with the same problem - on the one hand I want the GOP to ROYALLY fuck their stupid base, but on the other hand, it would also hurt good people.

They're also counting on not enacting it until after 2018 or 2020, so people won't remember the shit sandwich they ate in 2017.

Remember when Republicans were screaming bloody murder about Barack Obama not having enough experience?
Death, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
