Seems to me that with the refugees from Central America joining caravans to US, and Africans scaling walled cities in Southern Spain, that it's basically become 3rd world citizens desperately trying to reach the 1st world. Economic & political disparity. Then there's a recent move to the right with Spain & Brazil's Governments- the U.S is already " on the right " in terms of Senate, Supreme Court, etc, despite a strong resistance. There is a worldwide right-wing backlash against 3rd worlders merely seeking the right to life, liberty and happiness. 1st worlders afraid that " there isn't enough of what we have, (earned or unearned, )to go around. To let you in. To let you have a place at the table. " I just see more conflict over survival in the future. Add Trumpism to the mix & it's a literal war against 3rd worlders.
The soldiers being sent now will be armed and sent with full equipment for battle, as opposed to the nearly 2,000 unarmed National Guard soldiers currently stationed at the Southern border to assist the Border Patrol. Aside for doing all sorts of interesting paperwork, the National Guard soldiers also assist the CBP by cleaning out their horse stalls and shoveling lots of horse shit. (sigh) ... Anything associated with Trump come with lots of horse shit.
