Voters in North Carolina, by 'LucidHurricane' While we think Oregon's perfectly reasonable "everybody votes by mail" system is probably the most efficient way to run an election, we're still partial to going down to the polling place and filling out a ballot, because we get sentimental about the rituals of democracy. But voting on a single Tuesday sucks and is inconvenient, so
Mileage varies ... I have seen long lines in both SF and Berkeley.
I remember one election (2004 presidential?) when I used my standard dodge of "go to the county voter's office the weekend before" ... only to find myself hanging out with well over a hundred citizens who had the same idea.
The Ohio state lege passed a medical marijuana bill this year. Now, they have to come up with the rules and regs on who can grow it and sell it, and they say that'll take about two years. The AMA is advising doctors not to prescribe until all that shit's in place.
I had a chatty cashier at the hardware store when I was buying potting soil. He asked me what I was going to grow, and I was stuck because I didn't have an answer ready. I wasn't about to say marijuana.
Would that be the Ohio Secretary of State who's had his ass handed to him in court every time he goes in to defend a new voter suppression tactic who recently assured Mr. Trump that the election isn't rigged, thus negating the need for all the voter fraud laws he's gotten his ass handed to him in court defending?
California has early voting. Dates vary by county. Where I live viting started October 10. Here is a link to find early voting for your county. https://www.usvotefoundatio...

We have twelve local initiatives in Berkeley as well. I want in on that sweet pension action.
Oh my God.
(I was helping support an elections department during that time. The SoS put down the hammer.)
You could vote a straight ticket with one punch? Woah.

You're lucky you didn't get a water bottle thrown at you.

Remember the good old days when Ann Coulter wrote a book advocating that all Democrats be executed for treason?
An elegant solution for a more civilized time.
I remembered that after my Mondale vote absentee from overseas, not that it would have mattered

My mother was a poll worker for many years down at the local Grange hall. Those women baked their fingers off the night before.
Swing state, white precinct. Always got through in ten minutes or so.
Trump voted too?
Why can't we have a young, handsome, and charismatic liberal leader? Not fair!http://fromtheleft.files.wo...
