Of course, his son won. Having a non-Anglo name automatically decreases your odds of winning in my area.
That's another reason why the loss of local journalism is such a tragedy. The candidates for school boards, judges, and city council get ZERO news coverage.
With one deeply flawed but at least trying politcal party and another political party that is full on power mad, the solution to every problem right now is "be richer and whiter". I'm so tired of it all.
We could use the voice changing dealio they use for those anonymized TV interviews too, to remove traces of accents that might give up the cultural identity of the accused.
As a protestor put it after George Floyd's public execution "you should be happy all we want is justice, not revenge." The thing those scaredy pants wypipo keep forgetting is on the whole the black community has a much clearer understanding of forgiveness (Christian or otherwise) than they get credit for. Fixing our critical race facts before a reckoning is unavoidable would be the prudent course, but those that owe their power to scared white folks don't want to give up their social "rallying point", which they have absurdly claimed is that the REAL victims of racial strife are straight white men.
