As far as Ghislaine Maxwell goes, she is entitled to the same treatment as all other inmates at the facility she's housed in. She should not have greater privileges or lesser privileges than other inmates. Whether or not she should be housed at her current facility is a totally different question and that decision should be made by the federal BOP and not a deputy attorney general.
I know that this might not be a popular viewpoint, but "equal protection" and "due process" need to be upheld no matter who we are dealing with.

And prison inmate who have had responsibilities while incarcerated have been shown to have a lower recidivism rate than inmates who have not had responsibilities. If she is unable or unwilling to meet that responsibility, then yes, the dog should be taken away. If she is meeting the responsibility - which would probably be the first time in her life she has actually taken good care of someone or something - I wouldn't interfere with that.
I personally don't support the poor treatment of incarcerated humans. That said people who hurt minors should be on the lowest level of my sympathy list.
