I never thought I would say it, but I miss the subtle coherence of a George W Bush 9/11 speech.

If this is Mamdani not keeping his promises, I can't wait until he really gets going.

"Mamdani’s approval numbers are strong. Vicky Palladino’s response on Fox News is to question the poll because it supposedly is not talking to “average middle white working class people.”

Mamdani’s approval numbers are strong, and that sent Vicky Palladino straight into a racial grievance on Fox News.

Palladino questioned the Suffolk University poll by complaining that it was not surveying “average middle white working class people” like her. Roland Martin’s response was immediate: “racism at its finest.”

Then Roland pulled the receipts. The poll’s own demographic breakdown showed white respondents were included. The numbers simply did not tell Palladino the story she wanted to hear.

Rebecca Carruthers says the deeper problem is that Palladino is used to white people being centered and does not know what to do with a brown mayor governing a city where white people are not the majority. Roland says Mamdani’s success is making that discomfort impossible to hide."

Mayor Zohran Mamdani shakes hands with Rudy Colludy at a 9/11 remembrance ceremony. It must have made that old man insane. Too bad he didn't pass out.

I wouldn't touch Rudy without wearing surgical gloves to protect myself against cooties.

Rudy gonna catch a case of Islam.

Mamdani's particular situation, like Obama's before him, absolutely warrants an anger translator.

When I first entered the workforce, Boomer colleagues shook their heads at the realization that I wasn’t born when JFK was assassinated. GenZ workers born after 9/11 are getting the same reaction from elders.

Take the Long Island Medium, mix with a generous amount of Paula Deen, marinate with Limbaugh Watters, and simmer for thirty years on Fox News high, and there you have her.

Bigota Palandino, a dish best served never.

IMHO, I don't think the heroes on the Shanksville plane and what they did get enough attention when we discuss 9/11.

There was a movie or something about it as I remember. I also remember liking it.

As they do, shamelessly. See Grace, Nancy or Bush, G.W., their criminal careers.

2016 I was in NYC for a 3 day training course. I took a few extra days and one morning took a MTA from Astoria to Brooklyn and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to lower Manhattan. All was bright, noisy sights and sounds, past city hall and over south on Broadway a few blocks to Cedar St and over to the WTC Memorial.

Here is was weirdly quiet. Traffic noise muted. People gathered around the two monuments in reflection. I slowly circled both monuments, alternately reading names and looking into the pools below in the footprints of the towers. I decided it was time to head uptown and looked at my watch... I had been there for two hours looking at the memorial.

Osama Bin Laden is the absolute victor of 9/11. It has nothing to do with the current mayor of NYC, however.

I wonder how long it took a political consultant to get her to say "we the people" instead of "white people"?

I think the conversation that morning with my mother went something like this….” happy birthday Mom. Also, are you watching the news?” She just woke up when I called her to wish her happy birthday.

Today is my daughter's birthday, too. She was nine on the original 9/11. As the news spread, her school was closed; when I picked her up she looked disconsolate and moaned, "Oh, no... Now my birthday will be famous."

She got that right.
