As they do with the bibble, "conservatives" cherry pick Bradford's writings.

Oh get over it. It isn't as if the Pilgrims could have just hopped on the interstate and traveled down to visit, or picked up the phone and called. Jamestown and Plymouth might as well have been on separate planets. They couldn't really communicate with each other and they had no interaction at all. Both were tiny settlements in two widely separated locations on a vast wilderness continent that neither one knew much of anything about. Thanksgiving is inspired by an event (or series of them) conducted by the Plymouth colony. It's part of the nation's (pre)history and it's something that we all share in, regardless of region. They gave us Thanksgiving, and Virginia gave us four of the first five Presidents. What's the matter, can't you share the stage just a little bit?

Rush's version is much closer to the truth than your feces laced diatribe Libtard.

even when Christians were told to share with other believers, they were ALL still to work(if able). There was some in one church that said they didnt need to work, sicne "christ was coming back", and they were rebuked by the apostles for that attitude. all needed to work to the best of their ability.. socialism does not promote someone to work to the best of their ability. And you are taking out the parable of the talents.. so um, no

Doktor Zoom, you have no class using the term "Teabagger". It is apparent you are ignorant or classless in using this term.Teabagging is when a man immerses his genitals in a bucket of ice water. This is done for various reasons but never in a political statement. It is funny only libtards and Obozo supporters use this tasteless term.

Actually, the whole idea of a shared Thanksgiving meal is pretty much socialism in its purest form. I don't know how they deal with that without their heads exploding.

Isn't the Plymouth Colony stuff taking place over 150 years before Smith's Wealth of Nations?

After I heard about the firing I wrote an email to the Pizza Hut Corporation saying I would never eat there again. I haven't eaten there in at least 20 years I can go another 20 no problem. Nasty pizza.

The so-called "conservatives" (generally, in my experience, just reactionaires) try to impose today on a few hundred years ago - like when they attempt to compare modern Christianity to the religious beliefs of the Founders and Framers.

"...historians say the Pilgrims were more like shareholders in an early corporation than subjects of socialism." Back then most (perhaps all?) corporations were "joint stock" not "limited liability." Ishmael mentions this in "Moby Dick."

In a joint stock corporation, each shareholder was financially responsible for the entire debt of the corporation - rather like an insurance "name" at Lloyds. In other words, unlimited liability.
