Read a good comment elsewhere that said one way to tell how batshit these Stupremes are is that every single judge they took this case to, no matter whom they were appointed by, said there was no case, the Constitution is very clear on birthright citizenship. Until it reached the "highest" court in the land, and then suddenly there were THREE judges willing to chuck it. Unbelievable. Writer was making a case for reform etc., but now I can't stop thinking about how much the more flagrant of the evil loons are corrupting the rule of law.
And until a corporation gets called for jury duty, their claims about money being speech are so full of shit I don't know how they have room for food.
Sotomayor, J.: “In the end, to the Court, the facts do not matter, even though the consequences are serious. The ban is absolute, so B. P. J. cannot practice on girls’ teams, even if she would not take anyone’s spot in an eventual competition, even if everyone who tries out for the team makes it, and even if having the chance to participate could aid immensely in treating B. P. J.’s gender dysphoria. Sports, of course, are often zero sum, but the law need not and should not be.”
"Any Democrat who doesn’t advocate for expanding the Court to at least 15 or 21 justices should be laughed out of the primary in 2028."
Any Democrat who doesn't advocate for expanding the court to at least 15 or 21 justices AND throwing out the current Republicans and putting them in prison for the rest of their lives (or a gallows) should be laughed out of the primary in 2028."
"JUSTICE THOMAS now surprisingly suggests that the Citizenship Clause was a race-conscious remedial measure"
Thomas is a self-hating Black man who seems to want to return to the Antebellum -- fuck Jim Crow, a watered down era compared to the US pre-Civil War.

I'll argue that trans youth are deeply damaged by this decision (especially those that started transition prior to puberty), but the pseudoconservatives lost considerably more:

Earlier toot: “The Supreme Court upheld Birthright Citizenship, which is too bad for our Country, but we can easily make it up in Congress through Legislation, with the support of the President, that has now been determined during this process,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “No long and unwieldy Constitutional Amendment is necessary! Congress should start TODAY to work on ending expensive and unfair to our Country, Birthright Citizenship. They will have my Complete and Total Support!”
"My opa... he comes here from Swedwaymany was it? he comes here seeing a need for whores and... he thinks, 'we need a place to use the whores' so he goes into Real Estate and then my dad is born, right here, to a... a... nobody knows housing like Trump knows housing and so we throw out the... the un-whit...Un Americas and we double the rents! Smart!"
Trump is actually lucky that he didn't win in court. If his executive order to redefine birthright citizenship were deemed constitutional, then a future president could also redefine it to say that in order to have citizenship, all one's parents and grandparents must have been born on U.S. soil. Trump's mother was from Scotland and his paternal grandfather from Germany. This would also take away citizenship from his children and most of his grandchildren.
My parents were born in this country. My grandparents were born in this country.
I can be President now?
`Another WIN! But spelled with an "H" and an "E".

Clarence is pubically unfit for the office of SCOTUS
what's the comma, post, inserted in KJB's concurrence, post, supposed to be? That's a usage I've never seen before. (post)
One of the best things you have ever written. Thank you for articulating the scorn and contempt I feel for these sick fucks.

Ta, Evan. I'm entirely unsurprised.

If this game ends in a penalty shootout we will know for sure that the fix is in with the betting apps. I'll be watching from my yurt.
I want a yurt village.
Been there, done that. Built one out of cedar. It was fun making the panels, then standing it up in a day.
That is so cool! <3 <3 <3 <3
It was. I met my beloved soon thereafter, moved out and sold it for the cost of materials, but enjoyed the experience.
