If only we had two parties that were serious about governing, we could actually work out some kind of compromise plan to deal with this pandemic.

I would just say to declare a new emergency based on a new variant of the virus.

That's what I'm thinking. First eight victims, then ten. Four is chump change.

And you notice that Fox News does not cover this stuff at all.

Not one single word of coverage thus far.

If you don't take notice of an issue it isn't there, according to Faux.

Republicans give up their humanity when they run for office, or receive political appointments. It's a requirement.

The question in this case is not whether the Governor acted wisely; it is whether he acted lawfully. We conclude he did not.

So we want a lawful puppet, not a wise leader.

Got it.

Ah, yes, the logical conclusion of when the gerrymandered-in Repulibcan state legislature stripped the incoming Dem Governor of power during the lame duck period in 2018.

I agree. In theory, we need to limit emergency powers because of executives like Trump. The problem is that the founding folk never anticipated a party that was so stupid it denied reality or so corrupt it just didn't care.

It's not even personal gain. It's some far off and intangible idea of "freedumb."

I wonder if the Wisconsin Supreme Court held hearings on this in person or by teleconference. I noticed that the US Supreme Court has extended teleconferencing and banning the public from the building at least through April while they continue to ignore public health concerns due to the pandemic, so it would not be surprising to see the same level of hypocrisy among Wisconsin Republican judges and legislators.
