"our Nazi overlords at least possibly aren’t fully committed to the One Drop rule."

Sure, the Nazis were white supremacists and imported almost all of that ideology from the US, they did not use the One Drop rule because it was too extreme. Yes, American white supremacy was too extreme for Hitler and the Nazis.

"What particular skills will you bring to the U.S.?"

"White."

"No, what. What skills?"

"White. White skills, obviously."

There is an argument that the MAGA outrage is because Republicans were all set to rub the Epstein Files in the faces of all the liberals who demand proof, the smoking gun they can wave about and say "see! See!"

But really, deep down you know that a big part of why MAGA cares so much is that Epstein was trafficking white girls.

Black people have ALWAYS heard the dogwhistle before it became a bullhorn

Black people have, also, however, been lied to and gaslit by White people practically screaming "There's no there there"

Trevor Noah's autobiography Born a Crime shows just how fucked up Apartheid was. It also shows you what an incredibly diverse country South Africa is, there are like 20 or more languages being spoken there, not just English and Afrikaans. And there are all kinds of qualifications for who is considered black and who isn't, and it doesn't jibe with what Trump thinks. It's a fascinating read.

I have a question. Every time there's an article about South Africa, that photo of 3 guys is used. The guy on the right kinda looks like Lee Pace in a really bad wig. Who are these guys? Is this a still from a movie? Are they actual South Africans I should know?

I find it ironic that one of the Afrikaners' biggest gripes is the speaking of English. They hate the English and the English language. How rich that they're going to have to suck it up and speak English here. Not like we're going to cater to a niche language spoken by 88 people.

I don't mind telling you I laughed out loud when I learned they were fuss-griping about that

Say we do away with "birthright" citizenship. How far back to we go? I suggest Pre-Revolutionary War, pre Declaration of Independence. If you had no ancestors here prior to July 4, 1776 you need to apply to be naturalized.. Automatic citizenship goes to all Native Americans, Most African Americans, yet far fewer European Americans.

But what if you had some ancestors that qualify you for DAR membership, and some that slipped across the border because the quota was full for their ethnic group? And then married into that other line, and the woman he married had her name struck from the family Bible for marrying him? Does that still count? And then they had three sons that fought in the union Army? And one of those sons had a grandson who fought in World War II, I married a woman whose grandparents were immigrants?

I mean, of course, theoretically. I am theoretically asking for a friend.

"Reich Wing" jackasses can't even do "NAZI" correctly. NO discipline, NO tight organization, NO snazzy Hugo Boss uniforms, just a wrinkled T shirt and stupid adjustable ball cap. Laughable.

You libs can complain all you want, but after decades, heck, centuries of oppression, isn't it nice to see white people being given a chance to succeed?

All we had to do is stop judging them based upon who they are as individuals and just concentrate on the one thing that matters, the color of their skin.

Why have WE allowed the kookiest of rightwing weirdos ramrod their stupid ass plans and ideals down our throats? "Make America Great Again" is an overtly offensive statement. It infers that America ceased being "Great" at some point. When?? Being "patriotic" involves a bit more than waving a cheap little" made in China" flag around and sticking a stupid red hat (also made in China) on your head. This country was founded by "radical leftists". Being "progressive" means you are very fond of "PROGESS', So why has it become a dirty word and something to avoid?

Expand full comment

Because to these racist, misogynist, xenophobic morans, "progress" means that someone other than a straight white male Christian might be recognized or - God forbid - rewarded for their efforts. And that hurts their manly fee-fees.

WE let the "kids' mess around with stuff and they have it all screwed up. Adults need to take charge now. We've let 13 year old boys reading comics in the basement define "manly", and incels determine the most desirable feminine attributes.

Although Trump may be doing it for all the wrong reasons, attracting wealthy immigrants may not be such a terrible idea.

"Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free," doesn't exclude wealthy people. Let's be inclusive. " Welcome to America! Bring $$$$$! We'll help you put it to good use.
