Two South Carolina Republicans had an idea . Rep. Bill Chumley of Woodruff and Rep. Mike Burns of Taylors -- likely tired of being told by liberals like us that their monuments to that war they started so they could keep black people as slaves are somehow
maybe they could honor some of the black people who fought for freedom in the revolutionary war, oh wait, the black people fighting for their freedom in that war fought for the british, who promised that if they put down the colonists rebellion, they would outlaw slavery in the colonies. weird how you never read about that in our worship of the founding fathers
Let's have a book about him! How about a book about him and his wife and children and have it in all the elementary schools so he can be a man we all know about like Daniel Boone but so much more interesting to children.
You know, all the confederate-supporting folk who think slavery was not so bad, if not in fact pretty good, seldom if ever volunteer to be slaves. I find that curious.
Don't those statues with the white pants and red jackets holding the lantern or horse-hooky-thingy one sees in South Carolina lawns count as a damn black confederate soldier monument? I think the ones with the little guy and the burro is thought of as an Alamo memorial in some sections of the country.
I have a bigfoot memorial in my yard, because that' s who I am.
They are called lawn Jockeys. If you go to Saratoga Springs, New York you will see them on many lawns near the racetrack. Often painted in their horses racing silks colors.I always thought they were awful, even before I understood. I love your crew BTW.
All of them Jimmy!
Upvoted for the boot reference.

It's a funny old fact but the Chinese people of Taiwan were very happy with the Japanese. Just an aside.

Along with Fred Douglass, Robert Smalls has been doing fantastic work in the African American community.

I did not know that about Robert Smalls. Good for him!
It's a two-fer, Smalls worked on a C.S.S. ship so he, technically, is a confederate veteran!
And nuclear wessels.
Cool.

Bach FTW! https://www.youtube.com/wat...
Perhaps he can write the story then.
Whenever I hear the name Chumly, I think of the cartoon walrus.
