Small South Carolina towns aren't the only ones relieving traveling tourist of their cash and property. Georgia is crawling with them. I was driving alone in my mom's cute little sports car through the back-country of Georgia when I was blue-lighted by a cop looking to write me a ticket that was going to be paid immediately - OR ELSE! I hadn't been speeding, didn't blow through any stop signs and the car wasn't illegal in any way so I wasn't really concerned. I pulled over and waited for the officer to come up to the window. He didn't get out of his cruiser and instead got on his PA and told me to "open the door, get out and stand by the car." He made me stand there for several minutes so I figured he was running the plate. He eventually got out of the cruiser and asked me for my drivers license etc. When I turned to open the door he asked me what I had in my purse. I wasn't sure I understood what he was asking so I questioned the question. He said in a voice that was meant to intimidate "do you have the cash to pay for the traffic ticket I'm going to write you?" I was in the Navy at the time and I was in no mood to let some yahoo bubba from the sticks intimidate me. So, I went into my purse pulled out my military ID and told him to call my commanding officer because I didn't have any money with me to pay for a bogus ticket. His story then radically changed to - well I saw this pretty little car with a good lookin' woman in it and wanted to see how her day was a goin'. True story folks.
Is the NAACP Travel Warning still in effect for Missouri? We recently enacted the Shittown Law that protects clean whites from entrapment, but it doesn't apply to brown or poor people.
He's in his late sixties. Any sentence is going to be a life sentence for him.
You do not play around at the edge of legality for decades without crossing the line a few times. That would be assuming you were a smart operator. Stone is not smart. I would be willing to bet he jumped over that line many times.
He is falling into the same trap as Manafort, and Trump. They have never been caught before where they could not weasel out of whatever the charge was. That builds arrogance. That arrogance turns into, "I'll never be caught and even if I do I can buy or bribe my out. I an untouchable because 40 or more years of experience tells me I am."
Too me that is part of why they are not taking this seriously. They really do think it's some kind of big joke and they won't really get into any trouble this time either.

I figured a yuppie in a Japanese pickup with New Jersey plates would be too much of a target for those goddamn Strother Martin wannabe's...
