The Friendship 9 in jail, 1961. Image from NBC News The town of Rock Hill, South Carolina, took a step to right an injustice from the Civil Rights era, vacating the 1961 trespassing convictions of nine protesters who spent 30 days on a chain gang for attempting to sit at a whites-only lunch counter in McCrory's Drug Store. The eight surviving members of the group, who were all students at Friendship College in 1961, had their convictions overturned by Circuit Court Judge John C. Hayes III, who is the nephew of the judge who sent them to jail in 1961.

Damn those invisible ninjas and their sneaky onion slicing . This is a nice gesture, but I'm afraid lately we've been taking 2 steps back for every step forward.
No doubt there are posts from butthurt racists on the usual wingnut sites, complaining about all the attention being paid to this (if not complaining about the fact that the convictions were overturned) - - but I'm not going to give them the dignity of being noticed.
Lucky for these thugz that Skittles weren't invented until 1974. (sarcasm)

Robert McCullough is dead? A zombie tried and failed to indict Darren Wilson? I suppose that could explain the incompetence.

Relatively.

And now we know exactly how long the arc is- a bit over 50 years.
