I just celebrated your Canadian Thanksgiving too even though I am from your loutish cousin to the south. Because frozen turkeys were on sale.

So ... if you're going to shoot your attacker, don't let him fuck you first. Did I understand that right?

There's nothing quite as empowering as having a photoshoot wearing a stars 'n' stripes bikini while holding a machine gun

One wonders, yet again, what it would take to snap them out of their denial...

Prosecutor's just straight making shit up. While the Castle Doctrine ruling is textually correct - that law does indeed specify that the defense is unavailable against other residents of the dwelling - there's absolutely nothing in SC's SYG law about where the (presumably) dead person lived, only about the defendant's right to be where they were (uncontested in this case) and their "reasonable fear" of harm or violent crime at the time of the (presumed) killing.

This in general is what's so scary about SYG - you can be minding your own business somewhere you have every right to be, and someone who guns you down only has to create reasonable doubt that that they might have been a-feared to get away with it. If they convince the prosecutor they can reach that threshold of doubt, the case won't even go to pretrial. Unless, apparently, they are a Vagina-America and you were beating the crap out of them, then they get the book thrown at 'em. For great justice!

Those women really are violent, I mean the beatings from my GF never cease. They are in the bedroom and consensual, which is slightly different.

Isn't the last part you said about duty to retreat the whole point of SYG? In most states, it removes the duty to retreat. Or am I misunderstanding your series of words which is surely not a comment?
