Not actual life. This is a post that should not exist, because we should not need to tell licensed motor vehicle operators not to use said motor vehicles to run people over. That's basically the first thing you should know about driving: The goal is to NOT hit things with your car, most especially humans. The world is not Grand Theft Auto.
I am mildly curious how "you can run over protesters" will stack against "stand your ground"If there is a civil war? It'll be a state by state blood bath of idiots killing their neighbors in glee.Nothin civil about it.
I live in a relatively conservative part of Brooklyn (it exists), and at the bar this morning (do not judge), one fossil defended the Charlottesville driver by saying that protesters were "kicking his tires" while he was stopped. Therefore it's okay for him to hit the gas and to run folks over. And this is a completely very nice old man when politics are not on the table.
One thing about a hurricane. . .it teaches what you don't need. At one point I owned nothing except what was in my car, and it was very liberating. If you don't own much, you aren't tied down. I could have gone anywhere I liked, which is a very empowering feeling. I got me a studio apartment, 1 bed, 1 chair, 1 table, 1 desk, 1 floor lamp, 1 TV, 1 set of pots, 4 dishes, a microwave, some silverware, 4 towels, some bed linens, and a lot of books, and I was very content. It took 20 minutes to clean that place. The only thing I missed was my own washer/dryer and some pictures on the walls. And then I had to go and ruin it by buying a house, which you start filling up. But I watch it, and I buy everything second hand that I possibly can, so as to try and make up for the mountain of pre-hurricane belongings that ended up in a landfill somewhere. I even have a second-hand cat, LOL.
Are you from Bainbridge Island, by any chance? I was there for the summer to visit my mom and we always counted down to the moment of the first car alarm announcement.
So brown people running people over people with vehicles.... Terrorism! White people running people over with vehicles... Freedom! Don't Tread On Me! I mean... I get to tread on you. But Don't Tread On Me!

Aww, it's just manslaughter, right, because they are "defending themselves." For some value of "self" I can't even articulate.
I don't know how much madder I can get and still be civil.

Second-hand cats are the best cats!
Damn. If the count restarts every time we hit 21, I'm only 13 years old after two resets.

People on 'our side' have been talking about arming themselves. Does this mean we need to start looking at RPGs and anti-tank weapons?
