Require all state police officers to have body cams and turn them on, with clear definitions of when cams are to be turned on and offOn: Cop is on the clock or carrying a weapon.Off: Cop is off the clock and has sworn (on camera) under penalty of perjury that he will not be carrying a weapon until his body camera is back on.
Edit: And any crime committed within a distance which an on-duty cop with a non-functioning body camera could have reached from the moment the camera is off will be presumed to have been committed by the cop.
Police lawlessness is continuing to spread. There's a horrifying but completely unsurprising story out of Bethel, Ohio, where a peaceful BLM demonstration was attacked by an organized group of gun-toting Trump supporters (drawn from the usual pool of Erik Prince voluneers: motorcycle gangs, parolees, plus "blue lives matter" and "gun rights" groups ---this is all getting very Mussolini, very blackshirt), shrieking obscenities and physically attacking as well as shouting down the demonstrators, while Bethel police stood there impassively watching the violence escalate but doing nothing.
Cops are very good at doing that whole arms-folded, dead eye, "see no evil, so fuck you" thing, perfected during the civil rights era.
Officials are shrugging off the attacks by the white gangs as "minor scuffles." "Investigations are ongoing," they say blandly, but I'm sure we'll find that police investigations of white supremacist violence is a lot like police investigations of police violence.
Whenever a court finds a police officer guilty of violating someone's civil rights the judgement should be paid from their police union's pension plan rather than from taxpayers.
Plenty of active and retired military personnel have posted how they, as opposed to the police, are under all kinds of constraints about when and how force can be used - even in active war zones! - and are taught to make every effort at de-escalation before any use of force.
Meanwhile the police are getting "warrior training" encouraging them to shoot first and ask questions later.
OT, but just saw this. What the everloving fuck is going on? This is *not* how you get people to cooperate with the police. Macing children?https://www.theguardian.com...
Yay for you!! In 2 years you get Medicare, if you don't have it already!!! Look at Dual Eligible Medicare Advantage plans, they pay all your medical bills.
That saying is true.
With a sword, everyone runs. But you'd be surprised how few people expect to be stabbed in the neck with a pen.

Isinglass (fish gelatin) is used in certain cosmetics
And a pen gives you a big willie. Or so I've heard.

Require body cams, and mandate release of footage within 45 days.
This is fine, but why 45 days? Why not 10 or 20 days?
Yes, when it stops being cost effective the insurance companies will drop them.
I was surprised she did it at all. Having her husband there probably gave her courage, although he was standing pretty far back.
Universal healthcare and ending homelessness would solve so many problems.
Well, they did throw Chauvin under the bus.
